QUEEN OF CALIFORNIA
A nice opener. In a comfortable pace one is taken on a journey that resembles a drive through the USA; dusty and earth-colored, endlessly.
THE AGE OF WORRY:
A beautiful Accoustic track, formidable and silk melodic, powerful! Beautifully. Great for a walk in the pouring rain.
SHADOW DAYS:
Relaxed and calm compared to its predecessor. Typical Mayer-Modie. Time to sit back and relax and simply indulge in his thoughts.
SPEAK FOR ME:
The journey continues, through small towns along the way, the sun is shining, fleecy clouds and a slight breeze making the small happiness perfect. A very nice easy piece, a melody that can be a self-satisfied and easily. Now already one of my favorites of John Mayer.
SOMETHING LIKE OLIVIA:
Reminiscent of an oppressive afternoon in the southern states. The air presses, it's hot. A cool iced tea the greatest. The piece itself something bluesy.
Born and raised:
In the evening on the porch, on a sun lounger or in a rocking chair. The sun goes down, you let the day pass the previous trip Revue. A happy-melancholy mood comes over you, you are happy with the now. By Here. An evening that should never end. The harmonica makes this piece perfectly, the rhythm wearing a leisurely away, you feel good. All is well. Also a favorite. And rightly the title track.
IF I EVER GET AROUND TO LIVING:
Sounds a bit like a Sunday morning. It's still early, the air is still fresh, before the heat and humidity of the day aukommt. Relaxed, but atmospherically dense than Shadow Days. Unfortunately, it does not click with me * *
LOVE IS A VERB:
A lazy Sunday afternoon, jovial rumlungern, not to be alone, just relax. Makes you happy from the inside out. Sun, comfortable clothes, whom to cuddle, what more could you want? Somehow even a typical John Mayer song.
WALT GRACE's Submarine Test, January 1967:
Starts differently than it sounds afterwards. Confused at first, then increase the voltage on the song. Wonderful guitar, drums wonderful, wonderful melody. John Mayer's narrative voice carries through the song, with a melody that takes my breath away. Lyrically so beautiful Storrytelling its finest. Emotional very dense.
Orchards left and right of the route, fresh cool and warm sun surrounded a car with the windows open. The world is good, the melancholy cry leaves a joy. And you take on a piece of Walt Grace in itself. One of the greatest songs I've ever heard.
Whiskey, whiskey, WHISKEY:
Emotional open than its predecessor, it leaves a breathe again, be awake. Arriving at the coast, sitting on the hood, the view into the vastness enjoy. End the day with a bottle of whiskey and a pack of good tobacco. Beautiful melody, again with mouth organ makes thoughtfully.
A FACE TO CALL HOME:
The title alone is a pleasure, how true he is, but never formulated. A very gentle song, like a spring, the ride home. The Target. To what one loves. Cautious excitement, calm, confident. With a smile on his face. The song inconspicuous, almost ignorable, but in so great and strong that it clearly shows the end.
Born and raised (Repriese):
Some say that this piece would not have done more distress. For me it is the successful completion of this album, this intellectual journey through a great country, an enchanted world.
It is the piece that you hear when all the pictures of the trip look at, reminisces and can tell us about his experiences.
All in all, this album is just about perfect for me. Of course you like songs and more songs you like less, but every song is a way station on the journey described, they may pass through the United States, or by completely different Gefielde. Each of them contributes to this great album and I can only say for myself, as soon this CD is no longer leave my player! I'm addicted to these melodies, after this imaginary journey, these memories and pictures. Thanks John Mayer.
