Strong new CD by John Mayer

With "Paradise Valley" John Mayer brings only a year after the release of its predecessor, "Born And Raised" the next CD at the start. Like last year, we have here again dealing with a first class produced album that can be heard throughout very supple. Compared to its predecessor, the material is still here even more permeable, failed calmer and more relaxed. "Paper Doll" is to be mentioned here as an example. Remarkable how melodically can sound so minimalist instrumented number. The same goes for the duet with Katy Perry ("Who Do You Love").

Something more aggressive guitar work can be heard if need be in JJ Cale cover "Call Me The Breeze". Otherwise most a very quiet, sometimes already deeply relaxed atmosphere, but never is too shallow or even boring. No song sounds like another, the arrangements convince by repeatedly built interesting details, so are in the final third again marked country bonds heard ("You're No One 'Til Someone Lets You Down", "On The Way Home ").

Only the brief term of less than 40 minutes, I would call as a negative point; otherwise you can recommend this successful album definitely full every music fan ...
