Absolute world class; "Back to the roots" but is something else

In my review I would like to try, as objectively as possible to explain why The Hunting Party (ie the here and now) I will receive full credit and how it feels to me as an old fan to hear the songs of this album.

Was published as the song Guilty All the Same a few months ago, the opinions of the fans have split. Some were excited, shouting Yeah, back to the roots, others say Oh Sch ****, the sound is terrible. I can describe difficult. For me personally meets neither the one nor the other statement.
But let's talk first about the songs as such, before it comes to the philosophical stuff.

I have with The Hunting Party really eerie problems. Luxury problems. Even after what felt like 500 times by listening I can not do it, get clear favorites for me to pick. Sure, I liked principle most of the songs from LP anyway, nevertheless, already getting presents out relatively early, which songs a really appeal most. On the latest album that works somehow not as carried away about 95% of all the songs with the same strength.
Aggressive guitars, sharp drums and expressive vocals here everything is at the highest level. LP serve the audience with a mixture of dirty punk rock, hardcore, alternative rock and sometimes even thrash metal. But all this without forgetting to clarify that it is LP. Many familiar elements are still present, such. As skillful a rap style, emotional singing and shouting and simply typical LP-melodic passages.

Really remember the old days do in my eyes but only the song Until its gone. The rest sounds simple sassy, ​​refreshing, emotionally and politically captivating and just plain dirty. Apropos, the guest appearances on The Hunting Party bring duly dynamics in the songs. Page Hamilton and Rakim make their gefeaturten songs really a great job. Of particular note is here but the song Rebellion with guitarist Daron Malakian from the band System of a Down. Anyone who has ever heard SOAD seen here immediately that their guitarist actually plays along. Total sick riffs, but it is pretty wicked one gets just totally feel like it, rock out! Brilliant! Only slight disappointment on the whole plate is the song Drawbar, along with Tom Morello, guitarist of Rage Against the Machine for me. Do not misunderstand, anfürsich is a super chilled and atmospheric usual instrumental song. But when I read that Tom Morello join in there, then I have to just ask where? Here I would really expect the Rage-typical Hardcore funky guitar riffs and sounds; after all, you know Tom Morello as the DJ among guitarists. Here, however, is unfortunately just a touch of anything. But stay cool. No disappointment of LP, but only a little of Tom Morello, but does the mood of the album no harm.

I do not want here to describe every single song, because to really make each his own image, because the tastes are obviously differ. I can only emphasize that I feel in The Hunting Party, that LP as usual simply do only that to which they have at the moment Bock. And that is: Rock! As usual, the songs just stay in the ear and a tear with you. The well-known, strong characteristics of LP goodness. But as I said, here everyone should form their own opinion.

So, now briefly to the above two statements:

With Back to the roots of this album has nothing (very little, or at least very) do for me. The only thing that maybe with the first two albums (Hybrid Theory Meteora +) can be compared is that simply grab LP easy again increasingly to real instruments. Say, here is dominated by the guitar and the drums. The electronic elements play here only a concomitant, spice decisive role. Otherwise in The Hunting Party, everything is expected unexpected, so new to LP. The direction is quite different than it was then. It used to be really Nu Metal, coupled with hip hop and a touch electric. Today it's hardcore punk, hard rock, alternative metal and rap, which really is reminiscent of the 80s and 90s. LP have therefore taken their destination totally good. They wanted to try with this record, to inspire young people. Full animate coarse to himself to make music. Precisely as they themselves felt 20 years ago when they heard their favorite bands.

And bad sound? Honestly, just because this album sounds so raw, it gets its own unique charm. Who says the songs or sound will not do justice to LP is mistaken if on one of the 6 LP albums LINKIN PARK PUR is really listening to you, it's The Hunting Party. For in so far any predecessors there was a producer who has with reingefuscht. The Hunting Party is the first album of LP, which they have produced 100% himself. That is, if someone says that's not Linkin Park, then I say, however, that is precisely Linkin Park just so and not otherwise! And as for the sound: Remixed it was Andy Wallace, the men who at that time already mixed Hybrid Theory and Meteora. Here neither a novice in the game, still worked here bad. As I said, the sound is dirty intention. I know does not have to please everyone. To me it says but too much. ;-)

CONCLUSION:
For all those who could not do anything with A Thousand Suns, Living Things and Recharged in The Hunting Party you can access again without worry. This is a rock record at the highest level.
