In short I can the positive feedback on the net in my view fully confirmed: even at full aperture 1.8 very sharp, stopped down to 2.8 beats it in terms of sharpness even my really good 45mm 1: 1.8 again visible. The depth of field drops from pleasantly soft and harmonious, well here it is under my existing M.Zuiko lenses on the tip. Due to the fact that this lens from the captured image area and the perspective, matching the classic 50mm-KB-normal lens, the pictures just look very natural even at half-portraits and one needs even at shorter distances are not afraid of wide-angle have "Knoll noses". Keywords shorter distance: Another plus point, because here scores the lens with a minimum focusing distance of 25cm, allowing very nice close-ups.
All in all, given the objective of me 5 stars - a nice feature is the lens hood, Olympus finally attaches times an objective standard. Technically and processing of the haptics ago resembles the M.Zuiko 25mm 1: 1.8 rather the M.Zuiko 45mm 1: 1.8 as for example the M.Zuiko 17mm 1: 1.8 or M.Zuiko 12mm 1: 2.0 - which does not mean that the 25er looks cheap, the other two candidates fit halt only get better for the classification in the premium range of Olympus.
PS:
Small note, I bought the lens from specialist retailers at the same price as at Amazon.com.
But as I also like to use the Amazon reviews for a preliminary research on a product, I still have written a review on this lens ... ;-)
