Well - very soon it became my absolute standard lens and has my AF-S 24-70 completely replaced in this function: The 50s is small, lightweight and optically (on the D700) simply brilliant from full aperture.
Processing Technically you realize the price that it feels quite cheap, omitting to act rickety or filigree - it is simply a plastic lens and therefore quite used to, if you're used to another.
In summary: Who is looking for a truly outstanding and at the same time affordable 50mm fixed focal length, will find it here. On the D700 certainly a strong buy recommendation!
Conclusion: My "song of praise" refers to the interaction with the D700 (12mpx on full frame). The extent to which the lens can cope with more sophisticated cameras with higher pixel density, I can (unfortunately) not judge.
