Absolutely great device. Especially suitable for sound lovers.

I got the players today. The installation went smoothly. The only thing you must change is the digital audio output from PCM to Bitstream.
I must say that I am particularly interested in good sound. As a receiver I have a Onkyo 605. This can handle DTS-HD Master and TrueHD. I took the Samsung BD-P1400, especially for two reasons. 1.) The unbeatably good price 2) The possibility of issuing the HD audio formats in bitstream.
As the first disc I have "The Simpsons Movie inserted". The amplifier has recognized the sound immediately as DTS HD Master 5.1. I must say that I was overwhelmed. The sound is clear, dynamic, powerful bass. Simply everything the sound lovers needs.
(Little comparison: My HD-DVD player can play the HD sound formats However, he calculated this themselves and are available as PCM to the receiver on.). The sound from the Blu Ray is still a lot better than what I'm used to from HD DVD. One must bear in mind here that a Blu Ray in DTS HD or TrueHD to about 30 times the data throughput of information has as a DVD.

I work at a large electric chain. I have already tested a number of Blu Ray Player. Sonically can currently reach no water the Samsung BD-P 1400. The only downside is that the Samsung can output the HD audio formats in only 5.1. (There is only one player currently who would support 7.1 and that is the Panasonic DMP-B30. However, there are no films that support 7.1.) Samsung has however promised a nachzuliefern 7.1 support via update.
After extensive comparison tests between these players, I have to say that the Samsung sounds a bit fuller and dynamsicher.
I have tested the amplifiers: Onkyo 606 and the Yamaha 663 and about 35 different speaker combinations.
The differences are only to make out really expensive boxes.

From her picture there is nothing wrong. It is fantastic. Exact contours, grandiose color representation.

The remote control is sufficient. Only the pressure points are not quite optimal.

The only shortcoming: The charging time. If the player is already psyched, it takes an average of about 33 seconds to the Blu Ray starts. If one is doing a cold start, it takes about 60 seconds to a picture.
DivX, MP3 and the like can not play the player. Who wants to have this radio ions, must pick up the Panasonic DMP-BD30.

Apart from these small flaws, the player is an absolute buy recommendation. Also pricewise, it can not be beat. What is interesting, considering that there are many, many players that can not the HD sound formats and costs with this player up to 3 times.
