GAMEPLAY:
This is a Jump & Run game (Skip & jump) in 2D (if the figure from left to right and vice versa runs).
A total of six worlds, each with eight levels are available, the one roams towards Oberboss Bowser.
One traditionally reaches the end of each level, which is important to ensure always that you do not lose Baby Mario. If you namely by an enemy or violating obstacle (such as lava) touches, Yoshi will not just hurt, but loses Baby Mario. If this is not collected within a period of a few seconds, grab him Bowswers henchmen and you lose a try.
By the way, there are some items that need completely as possible zusammeln, some visible, others are hidden. There are a few power-ups that help Yoshi to new forces (spit fire or Eisatem, frantic speed as Sonic run along ceilings ...), otherwise there is almost only pure collecting items to get the level statistics upright.
The levels are supplemented often middle with bonus rounds in which Yoshi turned around in a truck, in a helicopter or in a jackhammer in order to collect items for a short time on its own.
Overall, the game is very simple from the difficulty here, you can as a senior player even quickly feel bored. Personally, I felt only in the sixth and final world challenged a bit more, but still this was too appealing no comparison, sophisticated platform games for the 3DS as "Kirby Triple Deluxe". Even the boss levels are ridiculously easy and fast. Because the Browse power after the items have more fun (though not much).
I can, as I said pull, no comparison to the famous SNES offshoot. Therefore, I do not know how easy or difficult is this game.
Anyway, I recommend "New Yoshi's Iceland" rather younger players, because even those who feel overburdened yet, get enough assistance (mainly in the form of wings after several deaths in the same level).
The controls are alright, even if one should become accustomed to Yoshi jump maneuvers (Yoshi can hold for a few seconds in the air, while the "landing direction" vary good goals here is asked). Otherwise, there are classical actions as they appear already in the Mario games such as the Ground Pound or swallowing of opponents thanks to Yoshi's nimble tongue. Apropos: How you can think of is the main attack pelting the enemy with eggs (also huge egg and metal eggs will play a role). These eggs can also be used to collect hard to reach items.
GRAPHICS:
What can be said about the graphics is that they fit the games series: The Levels remember so more like children's drawings, but the figures stehts more three-dimensionally therefore come (still to background and foreground blur sometimes too much for me). Everything seems colorful and, yes, we say it, child friendly, very pretty. But I must admit that I did not cut the graphic from the socks. It's okay, nothing more.
MUSIC AND SYNCHRONISATION:
From the soundtrack, which sounds like between with trötähnlichen tones, only the Level menu-tune me has remained in my head. Otherwise the music droning halt rather to himself. For me personally, it is now not something I'd like to want to hear again or something, which I would not remember well, but on the other hand it is not yet so terrible, as I have read it from some other critics.
Speech does not exist, the figures indicate just noises (especially, of course, Yoshi and his protege), the sound effects are okay.
Menus and options:
The menu is clear and kept in school blackboard style.
There are initially three empty slots available so that two or three people can play their own storage stand on the same cartridge.
The controller can be defined in the menu (via predefined control types and control of Yoshi eggs) and is not only from the main menu, but also while playing the levels available. Otherwise there are no options that could affect or vary the game somehow (such as difficulty) or a chance to see some video clips of the game again (even if the number of those is very limited anyway).
EXTRAS:
As a kind of extra, you can look at it that you can see the Yoshi bonus games free play with time and by collecting items so that they can also play separately. Big minus point here: This is exclusively in two-player mode. So if you happen to no other player has at hand locally, who owns a Nintendo 3DS, is not able to enjoy this extras. While there is a way also to play the bonus games alone, but you have to pro level world 30 gold medals have collected (that is to get a piece of work in itself), then one can per level world unlock a bonus game for separate gaming.
In addition, there is an extra at the end of the game: If one has completely played for the first time, the option available to combat adult Bowser as last bosses in the second full playthrough (though without any Zurhilfenahme the Wing powerups to give during the second playing this simple game rather requires patience as these powerups).
CONCLUSION:
I was quite disappointed with "New Yoshi's Iceland", it was too short and simple pleasure. It's time not a highlight among the Nintendo 3DS games, let alone among the 3DS games in my collection. Addictive was virtually non-existent. But to be fair, maybe my disappointment is based in the fact that I only the Nintendo platform game "Kirbys Triple Deluxe" played earlier that liked much better. And who knows, maybe the audience is actually a younger audience, which is to be achieved by the child fairer appearance and playing style. Not more than this I can "New Yoshi's Iceland" really recommend (perhaps Yoshi enthusiasts), but as a "must have" -3DS game I would not call it either way.
