AC newcomers have to be patient

I myself have played four years ago only AC1, which I liked.
Part 2 and its offshoots are not ended for reasons of time in my console.
Now I had the time and inclination for AC3, so I'm not a rookie, but also a connoisseur of the series.

Accordingly, I rate this game as well. The review is for lovers so possibly not interesting.

As I said: This is just a short review about 3 main points of criticism,
because much has already been said many times: Graphics are great, atmosphere is great, versatility available.
A few minor bugs and partly erroneous synchronization - but all so bad. If you are first time in it, you really get a lot on offer and can develop good!

GAME START SOMETHING demotivated.

1 to move in the first few hours 3 characters, until you remain at the last (but in between the first short controls).
What is all this, is indeed explains and makes for Storry also make sense, but is for the newcomers probably a bit confusing and "too much".
And you want to also not only for hours dealing with prehistory, but playing!
2- "Desmond" and "Kenway" not seem very sympathetic. If you like "cool guys", they might like. Mir are too monotonous.
3- The first 5-6 sequences are quasi a tutorial - nearly half the Hauptstorry. And in spite of that length yet questions remain (see control).
4- There are scenes where the background information is helpful. Now I spoiler a bit, tell the example but not great: The second character "Haytham Kenway" gathered a few people around, and at the end of his playing time is revealed that they are a group of the Templars. "Yes and?" I thought ...
The whole was so staged that I should have been surprised, so I googled to understand that. For people who neither know the predecessor, still historically well versed that says so much.
5- At the beginning there are a lot of Einspieler.

Basically it is therefore not well taken at the beginning of a newcomer.
You had but said: Hang in there, it's worth it. ;)
From the moment you "Connor" controls, much better.

TOO EASY.

1 fights against all groups of soldiers to win even with Hack 'n Slay. And if time is the energy just before the end, you can just run away. If you walk, catch a no single bullet. One must therefore make the fights exciting and even try them anyway to solve the slow style, even if it's not necessary.
2 Smoking can look forward to: climbing passages can be solved with one hand on the controller. ;) You have to actually hold only L1, and everything works by itself. Even to jump from tree to tree, is not pressing the X button (= jump) needed. On the one hand nice because you do not unnecessarily staying with the movement, on the other hand but also not at all challenging.
3- earn money: you would not need and comes loose without going through the game. That's the one before poor. Secondly, you deserve it too fast. Just hunt animals with expensive box. These come not even a scarce before, which would justify the prices.
4- The open-world concept concerns almost only the game world. Missions and certain treatises act but then as if on rails.

Overall, everything is just too easy.

CONTROL + MENU

1 As I said, I have not played AC for 4 years - so I had to re-internalize what's happened very quickly for coarse control!
But the subtleties are a bit strange. Until I understood, for example, that I did not have to take in hand the pistol out of the holster, and pull only with Triangle to shoot, it took a while.
2- There are on R2 for the assignment of the hands an extra menu with corresponding weapons and their quick selection. Somehow awkward solved ...
3 Important side-tasks are not explained, nor are they well represented. Some like eg send convoys can only happen if you, the menu times studied thoroughly and then move forward with "learning by doing".
4 Important dialogues and hints from the system that you have not fully noticed for different reasons, you can read anywhere. While there is a kind of log book, but here are almost entirely unimportant things.
5- The optical implementation I also not well managed. Example: When I first time observed how the quantity selection is designed, for example, in sales, I've just shaken his head: the top right in a silly circle menu rather than simply the product with clear labeling.

It has somehow feel the developers wanted to be particularly innovative (side quests you can find hidden in the card menu, for example).
Basically, to get after acclimatization, although along well, but still all seems a bit complicated.

STILL 4 stars.

The game is much really good and if you survived the long start, is mainly to play everything outside the main quest beautiful.
The initial problems are eventually forgotten, after all, and with menu and control you come after some time but still got along well.
Much seems really copied from RDR - but I find not bad because Rockstar yes stands for quality.
But what also not hinbekommt Ubisoft, is the humor, the legendary characters and deep Storrys that provides R * Games on their feet.
But sometimes it succeeds in its infancy!
