Positives:
- Fast delivery, even though they were foreign shipper: On Thursday ordered and delivered on Saturday. A small padded with air cushions cover is sufficient as packing and the goods is relatively well protected.
- The supplied remote control is me about 6 cm long, 2.8 cm wide and approximately 6 mm thick. Including battery it weighs about 10 grams.
- The feel and look of the remote control are good.
- The pressure point can be felt relatively well on the circular trigger.
- It works fine on my camera.
- Blasted directly in front of the camera I could remotely trigger up to 6 meters distance in testing within houses.
- The remote control is so small that they can easily be stowed anywhere. I have it always with you.
- There is a barely visible plastic strip in the battery compartment, I interleave when not in use again in order to avoid contact of the poles in unwanted pressure (eg in your backpack) and thus a depletion of the battery in the original delivery state.
- Very good value for money: The original Canon (Canon RC-6 wireless remote controller) cost to my time of purchase, the two to three times.
Negatives:
- The unit supplied to me looks significantly different from the figure at Amazon the time of purchase.
- Unlike the original of Canon, there is only a trigger mode here.
- Unlike the original Canon no bag is included (this can attach the original to the camera strap).
- The upper edge of the housing is not rounded.
- Overall, the quality of workmanship of this infrared remote control under the original of Canon is.
- The battery is (similar to the original Canon) housed in a with difficulty to open the battery compartment. However, since the battery is large, the change is expected to be rather rare.
- The boundaries are not drawn mE by remote control, but by the sensor on the camera. Since the sensor in the 5D3 can only receive signals from the front, the remote control will also be limited. Already from a side angle of 45 degrees, the remote control will have no effect on my 5D3. From the side or behind the camera can not be triggered.
Also require the physical laws of infrared radiation that a clear path between camera sensor and remote control must be available. That is also a large lens or a large lens hood may block the rays. Moreover, infrared can be disturbed as heat radiation in a sunny environment.
Conclusion:
Since I currently can live with the (usually systemic) limitations, I forgive, given the favorable price-performance ratio 4 stars.
