Elliot Goldenthal's new score is probably the rhythmischste and actiongeladenste score, which he has written for a movie, a far cry from his last two scores, the empathetic Oscar-winning music for FRIDA and also more restrained THE GOOD THIEF. The large symphony orchestra is permanently driven by electric guitars, bass, drums and percussion additional. Even in the few quiet moments (mostly suspense passages) is constantly Blazed a kind of rhythm in the background. Titles like "Bullet Frenzy", "AK-47 Scherzo" and "Run for Your Life" indicate the pace. The fact that when the film is blatant testosterone cinema, it leaves little doubt that music. Ironic mutations can be at best in track titles like "My Big Black Assault Weapon", "The Fascist Shuffle" and "SWAT Sticker" find (after Barry DeVorzons theme of the old TV series). The music remains serious and is at times extremely cool. Goldenthal's eröffnendes and final guitar driven "Bullet Frenzy" theme does not sound so for a classic film score and definitely opened new insights into the writing of the composer. However, whether the often quoted comparison with Metallica's S & M is appropriate, everyone should decide for themselves. Occasionally translucent sounds from earlier Goldenthal scores like HEAT or FINAL FANTASY: THE SPIRITS WITHIN do not conceal that this is a surprisingly self-contained work with SWAT, whose rhythmic intensity and especially complexity, especially in songs like "Crash Landing" and "That Cop Stole My Car" is downright breathtaking. In addition to the nearly 35 minutes Score includes the CD and a straight Danny Saber Remix of the original TV theme of Barry DeVorzon and two songs, the nervous "Time Is Running Out" by Apollo Four Fourty and "Samuel Jackson" by Hot Action Cop . This last song, a hip hop version of the TV theme, acting by and large, however, but rather embarrassing. Only for fans. Apart from the soundtrack is highly recommended, as well as for action and Goldenthal fans as for friends uncompromising and complex orchestral sounds.
