Alternative: SIEMENS WT44 W3ED1 (With Rstzeitanzeige in MM to date (11/2014) for 449, -)
Siemens WT44W3D2 (almost equal, some additional functions) or slightly faster + expensive: Bosch WTW 84270 ECOLOGIX (currently more favorable than the same Siemens WT44W2ECO). Or with glass door WT46W564.
1. Why a new dryer?
My old AEG-condenser I had with some operations 21 years kept alive (drive belts changed 2x, etc. new fan, thermostat cleaned 3x)
Due to the high power consumption of 3.7 kWh a new dryer now was needed.
Important was the low energy consumption (the comparison must convert it to kWh / kg laundry and note behind are partially different spin values, usually 1000 r / min, with newer Directive 1400 rev / min.

2. concerns about heat pump dryers
The problems with clogged condensate pumps in the older models I had read exactly and therefore concerns first. The newer models are but improved pumps and strainers have (look for "forum team hack error dryer Bosch WTW 86562 Ecologixx7 water tank full")
This model is relatively new (stands at idealo.de "listed since Sept 2013 ') and I therefore hope that a mature model. Production date was actually in September To 2013, seen from the E-number where FD 9309 means JJMM (year + 20): (93 + 20 = 13/09). Behind the handle of the water tank stood on a plate 04.09.2013.

3. Purchase and delivery
I bought this model but not from Amazon at a large electronics store (name as a planet) for 599.
An extended warranty up to 5 years were still to order engine trouble and electronic problems would also be covered for now.
The dryer was indeed delivered standing, with slight tilt but ran about 0.5 l water (from the test at the factory). So be careful with carpets.
The unpacking and setting up the machine I made myself.
The packaging waste is not much, only 2 large Styrofoam plates did some work during crushing.
I had previously downloaded the manual and mentioned there WZ 11410 Connection kit for washing machine ordered (about 15 EUR).
According to the manual should be the top 4 screws on the plate screws, but there were 7 screws settled and only 4 holes in the plastic.
This intermediate frame fit on my 4 year old was Siemens washing machine, the rear feet were in the air but 8mm above the board, which would be long enough.
Therefore, the frame bent when setting up in the middle of high and two screws broke out easily.

4. Experience
Now to the dryer after 2 month / about 50 dry cycles:
- No odor problems (eg rubber / plastic smell) like other dryers
- About 25% quieter than the old condenser, the heat pump hums softly in addition like a refrigerator.
- Front and sides are only slightly warm, only the metal back is strong warm (about 50 degrees)
- No fan blows air out somewhere, even the front is practically sucked nothing, no perceptible air movement. The space mentioned only gets a little warm by the back.
- The drying stages fit very well
Disadvantage: the fine adjustment of the degree of drying is described in the manual badly.
In fact, it can do so only in general to adapt to all levels, not just eg Iron dry change. (My mail request at Siemens on this issue led to a recall after 3 days where this was confirmed.

- The fluff filter cleaning is something fummeliger than the old dryer where there was only one fixed filter in the door. Both filter inserts can open and easy to clean by hand, wash in the instructions is not always necessary. Among the filters, about 40 cm deep, you can see well with a lamp capacitor.

Whether the Selfcleaning works over the years remains to be seen. It is said that only the cooling of the condenser is flushed, but not the underlying aufheizende area.

In the water collecting tank is another small blue filter, but practically cleans itself automatically when pouring the water, only about every 10 times it is washed. The Self-cleaning of the condenser seems to work: condensation is pumped into the tank, thereby cleaned by the small blue filter. The sensor buttons do not respond to touch but need some pressure, sometimes one needs two attempts to respond to them. The old mechanical keys were there better, but were also like defective.
After the drying process it beeps regularly 3x subtly like a little clock radio, the old AEG boomed like a foghorn. From the basement, he would not listen. Would be good if you could adjust the volume.
The power consumption has as expected declined by approximately 60%, which accounts for around 100 EUR per year. During heating, the device draws about 500 watts of power.
This model has a relatively long drying times (178min for 7kg with 1000U / min), but with a 5kg washing machine have to the convert to 7kg Dryers and achieved thus in cupboard dry 5 kg at 1400 rev / min about 90 minutes, which is quite sufficient for me ,
In addition, the drying temperature seems to be much lower than the old model (and other newer?), Which protects the laundry.
Please note: the 7 kg only apply to cotton, easy-max 3.5 kg.
The drum is not a stainless steel but galvanized steel sheet, but here I expect after researching any problems (after 5 months operation even in washing with metal studs are not damaged to see).
The matte drum surface and the lack of interior lighting make the interior a bit dark in normal room lighting but that is okay.
