After I was able to try both the Canon 70D and the Nikon D7100 and Sony A77ii, there was still another Pentax. Why? - The decisive factors were ultimately the numerous lenses that I already had for the K-50 (all my equipment from K-3, Battery Grip, Sigma Travel / Wide / -Festbrennweite costs thus no 2000). I had "zero '' beginning with, it would probably become the A77ii because with the numerous AF points and the semitransparent mirror already extremely interesting for sports photography and night shots (but better not combined" Sports Night ").
Here are the advantages from the perspective of a "changer":
+ 24 instead of 16 MP offer even more options for cropping
+ Casing feels thanks to coated metal housing (magnesium alloy!) To even-quality and more stable than the already good K-50 housing. With 700g the K-3, however, is so massive that it could interfere with one or the other.
+ Still a top "Dreckfresser" Thanks to solid workmanship with many seals. Had also flirted with a Sony Alpha 7 (Full Frame !!!), but it quickly wg. the high-gloss finish and something fragile-looking screen rejected ... I treat my camera for it to rough.
+ Finally a battery grip for longer missions and portrait photos (portraits, landscapes, cities) - This accessory is available for the K-50 is not unfortunately. Very cool and that rotate the menu!
+ Two or more SDHX slots, eg for a 16GB Flucard (more about) to separate or to JPEG and RAW
+ 25 cross-type sensors (instead of 9 at the K-50) are flexible / fast enough for clear pictures of my kids and the pets ... supposedly the AF is slow ... personally I had not noticed. However, Scan and no motorcycles or sports cars.
+ Control via wifi on Flucard - The price is indeed almost an insult and at first I was really skeptical ... but: When shooting via stand (also night shots) Top!
= Compared to K-50 (and its competitors) relatively high body price ... However, the K-50 is my opinion the price-performance winner in the DSLR range ... especially if we include the price of the lenses. Beginners with no Pentax K lenses should look and see if you do not go better with a slightly different camera exactly possibly the competition. So the D5200 are currently getting very favorable, as used D610 (about 900, but then you need the more expensive and usually heavier FX lenses).
- The only shortcoming is the underground bad Pentax service, which unfortunately mitkauft. The site hardly provides great deals on users (current workshops, events, tips - nil ... everything obsolete and orphaned), the email support go unfriendly and unhelpful ... which needs better.
Addendum: I've become a used Nikon D610 gained for interior shots with fixed focal lengths and am using the combination "Nikon interior" (top noise performance at full frame sensor) and "Pentax outdoor" (processing / sealing) extremely happy.
