EXPERIENCE:
My CPU front, an Intel Core 2 Duo E8400, was often at approx 4.2 GHz (FSB 470) and otherwise at 3.6 GHz (FSB 400) overclocked. Unfortunately I can not say with Prime95 Temp values, but the cooling coped well. Unfortunately, I do not know any more temperatures and will not give any estimates.
My current CPU where the H60 running is an Intel Core i7 4770k. Then you can get for values:
!!! By Internet searching, I have read that Intel is reportedly no longer soldered the chip to the heat spreader, but only thermal grease takes ... An absolute Nogo for a top manufacturer (Intel) just to save a little cost of production. Of course, it does not bother the average person, but if you spend a lot of money and there is also a K-series are Intel, the charge should be at least for the hergenommen. (Because you pay not a guarantee!). Too bad for overclockers !!!
The strong veringerte thermal conductivity might represent H60 worse than it is! Maybe even more than 10 Kelvin higher temperatures (especially at full capacity), the 22nm yet to happen.
For the test, the Corsair Vengeance C70 case is open to devalue measurement error, despite many case fans. A Corsair SP120 Performance Edition fan (not the standard fan) drawn through the radiator to the air and blows it back on the housing mounted directly outside.
Now for the output data:
-Prime95 Settings:
In-place large FFTs threads 8
Min FFT size 128
Max FFT size 1024
Memory to use 8Mb
Run FFTs in-place
Time to run each FFT size 15min
- Corsair SP120 Performance Edition fan
all test long on MAX (2150 RPM according Gigabytes EasyTune)
- Pump the whole test long on MAX (4700 RPM according Gigabytes EasyTune)
- I7 4770k continuously to 3.9 GHz
- Graphics card is not charged
- Ambient / room temperature: 22.5 ° C
To earnings after little more than two hours duration in these circumstances:
The 4770k after this time has a temperature of 69 ° C and 77 ° C according EasyTune at HWinfo64.
Do not forget while this heat spreader problem. On the other hand if I reach with his hand on the radiator but it shows that he is on the output side direction CPU still relatively warm.
CONCLUSION:
If ye buys cooling, please order another fan immediately! (Eg Noctua *)
The cooling can not be heard in idle. Even in games like League of Legends me the fan does not stand out. In Battlefield 3 you höhrt them with my settings a bit. However, my case fans are louder and the graphics card drowned sowiso everything. (Only subjective and rigorous assessment, especially because my PC is on the table right next to me)
When overclocked it and still want to have a SilentPC, I would rather advise to the h100i. I've never actually tested it, but it has a dual cooling surface with two fans, where you can of course reduce the speed a lot with the same cooling capacity.
If a "chatter" to hear when the pump is best convert immediately, because it is disturbing, is not the norm and was finally with me then broken. With the new I have no problem and to 100% höhrt you just a slight "whisper" when I ear sustained directly in open housing.
For a more reliable system can perhaps buy an air cooler. (There is no pump the kaputgehen could!) Especially when you add up the price of the H60 plus the required quiet fan to get a very good Noctua cooler * with already very good fan.
However, you let not deterred. I wanted a water cooling system and am with the H60 also very satisfied! Especially for HTPCs and compact housing, it is certainly a good alternative, because the fan can be used interchangeably for the housing and for cooling the CPU and is very compact. In addition, if the PC is often transported in the car could be the high weight of an air cooler the motherboard but require very strong mechanically.
It is particularly important that you always have to decide in each cooler temperatures and between volume and H60 may be "silent" with other fan slightly rude. Otherwise as I said to h100i attack, especially if you want to overclock a quad-core with hyperthreading will have good results even with Prime95.
Only 3 points are due to the still poor fan which one should einrechnen in price absolutely and unfortunately frequent problem of the pump.
* By the way, I'm actually now no Noctua fan but rather Corsair !, but I have heard so far only good things about the brand, and I think there can not go wrong.
ADDENDUM:
Possession of the successor is now over a year and had no problems. In addition, the immediate exchange of the shop was not a problem, alo she gets back 4 stars.
