And every flyer phase goes well come to an end. It get 2 to 3 masterpieces and then mediocre albums, so that the band / artist sinks into insignificance. Of this only applies to a statement on the Queens of the Stone Age. Although one might think but that it could go on forever after the first three albums so masterful. But do not go there. From mediocrity or insignificance to talk here, but would be quite wrong in view of the new plant "Lullabies To Paralyze". DC falls a rough division of the plant into the eye. The first half is what is commonly called "Fanbedienung": Hits, wherever you look, riffs, where you will never get tired of listening. "Everybody Knows That You Are Insane" would be one there. Or that surfaced at the previous sessions Desert plate "In My Head". Since there is not much that "Medication" or "Little Sister", the first single-mouth, a bit more of the old hits like "Regular John" and "Feel Good Hit Of The Summer". Referring now to still the nice introduction "Lullaby" (Mark Lanegan can unfortunately only the only time the mic), the bone-dry "Burn The Witch" with ZZ Tops Billy F. Gibbons and the beautiful ballad "I Never Came" and you could satisfy put aside the plate - here and there something new, but overall not as earth-shattering as "Songs For The Deaf", a good board just. But wait! In "Someone's In The Wolf" listens to you: A brilliant mesmerizing reef - well, that's not new, but the song is actually so long? More than 7 minutes? If a not to be so. On top of that you will feel in gefrickelten midsection even reminiscent of The Mars Volta. But only briefly. "The Blood Is Love" behave inconspicuously and sneaks one of the later candidate's ear. "Skin On Skin" is then the dispute: Upper Sick guitar playing, the nibbles on the ear and a detailed text about the sexual act, which is now awesome or a total failure? But soon it becomes clear - the former. "Broken Box" is then also slightly askew, but quite high earworm potential. A small Opus follows with "You Got A Killer Scene There, Man ...". So much atmosphere has been plugged in yet hardly a track of Queens. Psychedelic sounds then "Long Slow Goodbye" from. As a bonus track Session 5/6 was "Like A Drug" from the Desert gespresst on the CD. What can now draw a conclusion about this work? First: It is definitely not up to the previous, perhaps even the worst of the four QOTSA albums. Second: With the second half of the differences to "Songs For The Deaf" missing a no case, even if some tracks not just stand for innovation. Third: "Lullabioes To Paralyze" is actually no real Enttäsuchung. It's just ... different. May it every experience yourself. Highlights: Everybody Knows That You Are Insane | Someone's In The Wolf | Skin On Skin | "You Got A Killer Scene There, Man ..."
