To one thing to say at the outset:
Yes, this album is different as its predecessor. From all over the very nature. Massive attack conjures up a completely different world.
But that's actually a specialty of them: they produce in themselves conclusive round and albums - completely independent of their earlier works.
Each album has its own style. And that's just as well. In this way you will never be bored.
For me this is again very well done and I would not have missed it in my collection in any way.
What Your Soul Sings a song that one no longer comes from the head.
Everywhen, A Prayer for England and Name Taken are also very worth listening to.
Butterfly Caught is indeed pretty grim, but is actually under the skin. Clip is also well worth a look.
For those who Massive attack might not yet know so well: Check it in the other albums. It is really worth!
A true masterpieces is mezzanine. Teardrop and Angel - so bittersweet and just gigantic songs that I even listen to virtually 100 times still have not tired. Dissolved Girl and Black Milk - an amazing and captivating blend of sugar-sweet female voice and hard beats.
Unfinished Sympathy (part of the soundtrack of Sylver) is a gem especially same on the album Blue Lines.
The album offers Protection Protection, Three, Better Things and Sly also real gems.
So - Have fun with the heady world of sound of Massive Attack!
