After overproduced, over-ambitious (though certainly not bad) Cassadaga album there are now the first official solo album of the wunderkind from Omaha. Although, unlike Bright Eyes on their best albums, it does not sound. The lightness is but there again, the momentum and the songwriter qualities that were buried on Cassadga under pompous arrangements. This album comes almost to "I'm Wide Awake It's Morning" approach, almost ... But up there on the musical Olympus is the air just very thin ...
