I had already enjoyed Acting Up, Melissa Nathan, an author who writes well and we present the most endearing characters in an English that I understand. I do not also of expecting a rewriting by opening this book because qu'Acting Up was not one. But here, after just a few pages, I have to make myself clearly, I am in the presence of Anne Elliot of my time! Nathan and Melissa actually rewriting absolutely perfect keeping it all while bringing new things intelligently, as further history of sister Anne (Annie here) and her husband that I I found it very touching.
Annie Markham therefore, is a sweet and kind girl from a wealthy London family and capricious. Unfortunately, his father has invested all his money in his company but is unable to direct it. Susannah, the godmother of Annie, and one of Markham Company directors, sees only one solution to save them from bankruptcy: hire a consultant to address the situation and send the family of Annie in New York waiting for they do not interfere. Annie decides to stay in London and which is not a surprise when the consultant arrives and is none other than Jake, his childhood sweetheart ...
This is one of those books that one has no desire to have finished, we would stay a little with the characters. When we ask, they remain in our head and think of them as friends. Besides when you arrive at final word, we do not want to start another right away, we want to make it last.
And it's stronger than me, I can not explain how this story touches me, I am sad, angry, in love with Annie. The only complaint I could make this book is that the beginning is a little long but then it would never end!
