Spandau Ballet is one of the most stylish band of the 80s. On the Gold Best Of almost all the band's hits included. A total of 18 songs with a running time of 76:37 minutes. A couple of early singles like Paint Me Down, Muscle Bound and The Freeze sound nowadays quite dusty and have a different sound than the ironed songs from True. The single from the second album Instinction and the latest on the True album the band had then found her style. I have Spandau Ballet seen on their reunion tour. A very perfect concert. Here they played almost all the songs on this CD. There even the songs from the first two albums sounded pretty fresh. A great pity, I find that How Many Lies has not found the way to this CD. For that I could have done without on Raw. I really want to point out that there is another Gold CD with the same cover, but a different tracklist. This is the CD which also (partly) is offered with the Video-DVD. This CD has only 17 tracks. The differences lie in the following: The CD with 17 tracks are missing compared to the 18 tracks and Raw Fee Be With Your Love, for it is there but She Loved Like Diamond contain. Another negative point of the compilation is that the songs do not have a uniform mastering. Especially Fight For Ourselves sounds very thin and Raw extremely loud. Nevertheless, this is the best ever Best Of Spandau Ballet. So long as there is nothing better of the band, this CD a buy recommendation.
