- Tassimo machines operate with its own capsule system, the so-called T-Discs. This can be up to twice as expensive as cheap replica pads for other machines like Nespresso.
- The machine can not only make coffee but also espresso, cappuccino, tea, cocoa. Since these beverages all have different amounts of water and brewing times that Brühanleitung is printed on each capsule in the form of a bar code, the machine itself reads. The preparation of a cup takes about 30-60 seconds.
- In my opinion, the main advantage of this system: It can not be just one or two drinks make (coffee or cappuccino in a large coffee machines), but within minutes very different drinks, completely different coffees and teas. When several guests has just perfect. And there are really delicious coffees and teas completely different character.
- Second advantage is that the machine is 100% hygienic, the complete cleaning takes less than 30 seconds! Try that with a vending machine with milk frother! Even without actually cleaning remains hardly any liquid remaining in the machine, and certainly no coffee or tea set !!
- Major drawback: the price per cup is higher than with a machine, unless you provide thousands coffees ago (before it breaks down) - otherwise ranges of price advantage to the purchase price per cup of converts for several thousand cups! However, other pad devices are usually cheaper.
- Second drawback: The capsules produce unfortunately a lot of cardboard / plastic / aluminum waste. Fortunately, this is indeed recycled, but really beautiful is not. I would take alone therefore in high demand for beverages NOT the Tassimo system.
- The frothed milk in cappuccino or chai latte is not as good as in a Topautomaten or if homemade (see TIP below).

Quick start guide:
Pour water -
- Switch on the machine
- Cover open, insert T-disc, close lid
- Assume (appropriate!) Cup
- Press button 30-60 seconds wait until no water or steam comes more
- Done.
It's that simple really. One-button operation!
Well, now to the details and practical tips:
- There have several different Tassimo machine. In my opinion, is when the big nothing wirlich better. The smallest will do just fine !! So my review is from the Vivy, applies in principle but for all !! This here's the older version of VIVY. Stay tuned for the different colors that are functionally absolutely the same, but the prices vary almost daily. Sometimes black is cheaper, sometimes the Red, simply enter "Bosch Vivy" in the search, then you can see all available colors and prices!
- The power consumption is about 1500W for a few seconds during brewing. Thus and because of its size is also ideal for mobile home Vivy (If you have an inverter with such a peak power). For that I had bought it originally, but now the Vivy has our Saeco machines displaced in the basement !!
- TIP for people who stockpile many Beverages: On the plastic film cover the Tassimo discs is on it, how big the drink is (eg 60/190/245/285 ml). This number write with permanent marker on the cardboard box with the capsules !! Otherwise it could happen that one underneath is too small cup (small tip on Tassimo: This is part of the same on the cardboard box, just above the extraction slot, plus on the disc itself for people who work with Kapseldispensern).
- TIP: The discs hold Prakisch forever. But still a MHD must be printed (small Abschweif: even with bottled water, what a nonsense, because the water is thousands of years in the ground, and after one year in the bottle, it will be bad ???). So: MHD ignore coffee and tea discs (not with milk ...) - the MHD for coffee is according to the EU anyway soon abolished (if you managed it really shared).
- Now the scolding for Bosch: For iced coffee, the machine must therefore take less water, so you better afterwards can mix with cold water / milk. There are the "Icedisk", which is a plastic flakes with a bar code that you insert with the normal Kaffeeedisk in the machine - but this leaflet will cost 6.95 !! Had one can also from the outer packaging or instructions make for cutting ...
TIP: You can make iced coffee without these Ice discs. Just normal espresso let out, and then with milk ice cubes (ie milk instead of water freezing) to cool, then taste's also not watery!
- And right on it: You can see the machine hernehmen for pure Preparing hot water to make "real" tea bag or sachet soups. For this you need barcodes to dispense the appropriate amount of hot water. There is also the Hot-Water disc. Use the rotary wheel selects added 150/250/350 / 450ml, depending on the cup size. This part will cost a whopping 14.95 !! This smells just after the same rip-off that make the ink printer manufacturer !! To this end, a point deduction.
For regular tea drinkers TIP: prefer to buy instead of Hotwater Disc kettle for 10, then the tea is also better (because it can pull longer) and vieeeel cheaper (See my other review for kettle). But for Gelegenheitstees the Tassimo is ok.
TIP: Either you know someone who has this ice-Disks and Hot Water discs, and copy the bar code, or simply raise blank discs on to spend the appropriate quantities and temperatures of water (So Teedisks, Jacobs XL for 450ml coffee water)! Another tip to: There are vendors who sell a single disc for 1 or so. So to get to a few of the bar codes. But remember: must come from an old disk, of course, coffee grounds or tea out, the moldy!
One can as an appropriate barcode also cut and stick to the accompanying the machinery cleaning disc ...
- TIP: I find the discs Cappuccino (coffee Disk plus separate milk Disk) or the separately purchasable milk Disks significantly overpriced, and the milk is not the best taste. Dear one liter of long-life milk and a little milk frother for under 10 (eg "Scanpart milk frother", see my review it), the tastes better and pays for itself after about 15 cappuccinos! Only those who want to have it really sooo easy for the ready-made cappuccino or chai lattes right.
- TIP: in order to have an even better taste, you can brew with-calcium mineral water from the Outer Disc. That makes each cup 3ct (espresso) to 10ct (tea) Buffet (at a cheap 40ct / l of mineral water) - but everyone must decide for themselves! In addition, the machine lives longer if can not attach much lime.
- TIP: completely subjective the most interesting coffees:
- Petite-déjeuné Classic
- Espresso decafein (! Perfect for the evening), possibly as a cappuccino with extra milk available disk or selbstgeschäumt.
- Kenco Colombian
Inexplicably, these varieties are hardly commercially available, but usually only in Tassimo online store.
- TIP: Be sure the Tassimo Online Store Welcome! Some varieties can be bought only there. You also get repeatedly emailed shopping vouchers, every 1-2 months with a 20% discount. If you still more than 40 purchases, even the shipping is free, which then worth it!
Here on Amazon, the capsules are actually all too expensive!
Current price TIP: Our real market in Landshut has repeatedly Tassimo actions, sometimes 30% when you buy 5 packs, sometimes single price 3.79 for all grades. Do not know if other real-markets that also have, but an attempt is worth it (when there is no action to ask me in the market ...)
