O Brother, Where Art Thou? - A Mississippi Odyssey (Audio CD)

Customer Review

In addition to the aforementioned descriptions of the music itself should be emphasized that the CD is also an audiophile delicacy. Due to the high musicality and the same excellent recording quality is absolutely splendid for assessments of reproduction chains.

Right at the start ensures the chain gang for a moment of horror, when suddenly the harsh percussive noise impact hammers forming a toll on the speakers. The system must be able to represent every single vote of choral singing and to make comprehensible. High-resolution systems will show wegsplitternde stones.

The receiving team has worked very carefully and lovingly and lets the songs deserved rest: The pieces are not simply cut off or hidden at the end. Especially, but not only here, is allowed on Track 8 and 9, the microphone is open to the string swung.

On track 13 the micro captures not only the violin itself, but also the string sound, the slight scratching of the bow on the string. Fine resolution systems show here on how to play the violin defined: Rubbing a ponytail on a catgut ;-)

Almost as completion of the CD (track 18) an a capella of the Fairfield Four: Fantastic, haunting voices, staggered spatially. One can see the singers actually gathered at the microphone in front of him.

A plant is then described as good, if it works out the technical details of this CD while - especially - is capable of the emotion of the music to transport. Who remains silent in this CD of Taktfuß should contact your dealer immediately the next hi-fi specialist (!).

(Belongs with Mark Levinson preamp 38s, 36s ML / 37 converter-drive station wagon, Spectral DMA 250 power amp and HGP Fuga2 ST speakers).
