Amazing booklet

Little book given to American soldiers landing in France to give them some pointers on the country where they will set foot on the state in which they will find the people they must release, after 4 years of war, to encourage them to give a good image of the United States and not to attract trouble.

It is expected a bunch of cliches, there is a rather well-informed book that paints a nuanced and sometimes surprisingly admiring portrait of France, it would almost be disappointed!

That said, the book is a bit short (literally and figuratively), probably adapted to the capabilities & / or the curiosity of his audience, and the intention, set out in an almost playful tone that coincides well with the historical dimension the event that soldiers will take part. Étatsunien Detachment? Willingness to defuse future fights?

A small object (10x15), the bilingual text represents fifty pages in each language, including illustrations (a bit bland) we do not know if today or contemporary book.
Note rereading some problems to be corrected in a future edition.
