"The Secret Life of Plants" is one of the albums that have been completely totally misunderstood at the time of their appearance wrongly. The reasons are probably among other things found in the fact that Stevie Wonder's soul and pop music audience wanted to hear from him and not expected such introverted and often intrumentale sonic experiments. People, however, who prefer this kind of music would, in turn, rather chopped off his right thumb as to face an album by Stevie Wonder on the shelf. With the necessary time interval seen here is an ambitious album of a musical except rounder before, that is not hit parade fit certainly and contrasts strangely from the other work of the artist, but objectively it is nevertheless, or perhaps because of a very worth listening to and interesting work, the opens up more with each Hördurchlauf.
