An excellent graphics card!

I enjoyed a very interesting offer on another brand.
Having this graphics card for several days, I am satisfied with my purchase, one feels the quality of manufacturing unpacking, like previous models ASUS.

The card does absolutely not budge with the latest headlines.

At first in idle, the temperatures are higher than a traditional graphics card because it uses a totally passive cooling when is below the 60 ° C. However once there was a real 3D support and that exceeds 60 ° C, the fans will turn on and remain still quite discreet.

In an ambient piece 23/25 ° C on the Battlefield 4 Ultra, GPU temperatures are around 65-69 ° C maximum and the fans are running at around 42/43% of their max speeds. However I do not know if the value is reliable or not, AIDA64 is the only one to give me this information even GPU-Z does not give me the GPU VRM climbs between 89/93 ° C in these conditions.

Note that Asus has had the good idea to put two white LEDs on top of the card. They are lit even when the PC is off, which is quite annoying at night if your PC has a visible side. So plan of black electrical tape if you do not want your room becomes a nightclub.

Despite all its qualities, I will withdraw it two stars today because at the time a major problem affecting all GTX 980 (No matter the brand). Indeed it is impossible to have a DisplayPort image at PC startup during the boot sequence and on Windows without the 344.80 beta drivers. An update to the bios of the graphic card is needed but other than complaints on many forums, there is little communication from Nvidia on the subject. I will give five stars when the problem is really fixed.

EDIT: To date there is still no new vbios deployed by ASUS, that said after extensive research several people advise using the DisplayPort ports that are placed furthest to the right of the map, when already has a TV that monopolizes the HDMI port, and in my case it turns out that it solved the problem, at least it solved partially because although today I have an image on the boot sequence it m ' regularly happens to have flickering as Windows is not loaded with the latest drivers. For problems with black screens / flickering outside the OS, Nvidia recommends installing vbios 84.04.31.00.00 or higher to resolve the concern, so I expect that Asus deploys an equal or higher. The problem is partially solved, I present five stars.
