I had acquired all zoom lenses from Panasonic as the owner and used, all sold again, because I (from 50mm) was never satisfied right from the initial focal length with the results, as I before 30 years SLR technology with high standards (2.8-4.0 telephoto zoom and telephoto -Festbrennweiten) had photographed.
Finally, with this Olympus 75mm part heard this lens -ebenso as its value in the highest class of imaging performance, as well as all other high-quality fixed focal lengths from the SLR lens range with high light intensities, such as Canon 2.0 / 135mm and others. I almost venture to say that the image quality at maximum aperture in the near (portrait) to mid-range (approx Halbtotale) appear better? Maybe it's only my enthusiasm :-) - does not matter, just perfect.
The handling, turning the manual focus (who so what else does) butterweich and accurately.
FYI the reader: I work as an enthusiastic and critical hobby photographer for over 30 years, the last 11 years with digital SLR technology (Canon and Nikon) with high quality expensive and heavy! Lenses. About 2 years ago converted to Micro Four Thirds technology. Started on the smaller sensor I made first with the more significant cases of Panasonic G series, now since about 5 months with the housing of Olympus, the OM-D 5, --- a poem by photographic technique. For this I use fixed focal lengths such as 1.7 / 20mm Panasonic, 2.8 / 45mm Panasonic-Leica Macro, and just 1.8 / 75mm Olympus, and that comes with the OM-D 5 Zoom 12-50mm, which is surprisingly good as a travel zoom (better than the Standard Zoom, the Panasonic series, sorry love PanaFreunde, but the results make it clear - I had in front of it pretty much try).
Fixed focal length, as presented here 75mm, seem currently challenging photos in Micro Four Thirds to be made to the only, because in my view, there is the Micro Four Thirds still not the quality of truly outstanding zoom, the quite area really should cost money, and even then with advantageous light levels, as compared to 2.0 the thick SLR entirety points could ... maybe missing since the time of the buyers, too bad.
Conclusion: Those who prefer "less" images with the best quality wants to make, compared to many with XY zoom which can currently only for the net acclaimed from all sides (few) fixed focal length, such as the 1.8 / 75mm, decide.
