Is and was intended as a 4K monitor for my Mac Pro 3.1. Built graphics card: GeForce GTX 680 Mac Edition.
First idea connect the DisplayPort and 4k use with 60Hz. Well - the graphics needed a new driver (WebDriver-343.02.02f03) - then found all kinds of resolutions but no 4k.
So had to reset the NVRAM and yes 4k @ 60Hz. But no sound from the speakers.
So test the audio cable has signal, the monitor will not know of - panic, it did not work so.
Hm, then stop HDMI ... the same effect - no sound.
I just struggled through with the Acer hotline (also Sat 11-17 clock) to call.
The Hotline has me the facts - the peculiarity - explains therefore the audio input is only active when using the DVI input. Fast times tried and it works.
Otherwise, the audio signal over HDMI or DP is provided on and off the analog audio input.
Because I wanted to use the DisplayPort - because my graphics only here at 4k 60Hz clocks over DVI is only 30Hz - I must now examine why my MacPro there does not transmit audio signal.
The monitor flickers not so 30Hz are ok for normal applications Games or videos can already be felt.
After three days of operation, I do not know how I have to bear with the previous monitors - a tentatively set aside and to turn, has made it clear with only the horror.
