Already previously I had a stable tripod that Walimex 6702, which is the Manfrotto 055 modeled and also so very roughly has the same dimensions. It has served me well, was stable enough. I now have to get started with macro photography, the Manfrotto 055 made me XPROB namely simply because of the fast foldable center column, which makes the tripod much more flexible and just then is perfect if you have to close to the ground. And I must say I'm thrilled completely.

On the one hand: the tripod is again a corner stable and vibration resistant than my previous. And secondly: the fold-down center column is really a great thing. It is very easy and quickly to tip into a horizontal position. The stand is very stable and low vibration even when folded down the center column. Sure: it has a certain size and is also not extremely lightweight. But for moderate camera lens combination you just need also a corresponding base ...

I would recommend the Manfrotto 055 XPROB only recommend!
