I'm a pretty big fan of the Silent Hill series. Since I am PC player I had though regrettably without the 1st part, the parts 2 and 3, however, pulled me completely under her spell, they sat but specifically on subliminal, very subtle horror and not on stereotypical zombie shoot-with most banal story as It Resident Evil in the meanwhile 5th part tells us - though the fun factor is undiminished here :).
In Part 4 "experimental" and completely unfinished concept for me was for the time being due to the circuit. And even with part 5 Konami seems to have learned more in any way. Admittedly, this scenario is constructed extremely enthralling. The entry in the old hospital myself skin smooth socks off. And anyway, the exchange between the real world and hell are very well done. About the slightly outdated graphics (reminiscent of Source engine) can I ignore it. Who wants graphical pleasure, should in any case push the Silent Hill series out of hand.

What annoys me is the rather involuntarily unbalanced difficulty. Involuntarily because the combat system in places simply fails. I can not find for example, that there is too little Med Kits or ammunition. On the contrary, if the alternative function would be fulfilled through what they want, which is to be dodging Alex in a logical direction would be even far less than vital "accessories" are needed, because if it works, it works very well.
As a counter-example I want to use the boss battle with the monster doll Scarlett. Actually relatively easy when there just is not quite like the dodge function would fail: Alex gives way to a chair made - denkste - he differs namely exactly in Scarlett's paw, and not just once. Konseqenz: Continuous Health degeneration. I have 8 attempts to hand the doll on a reasonable health and inventory level to kill. For all other tests 5 health drinks and 2 first aid boxes were needed at peak times, so great the combat system has worked. : S
In addition, the number of blows that you needed was to force them to their knees with every start differently.
Another example is the fight against the schisms in the Bureau, here it is partly similar chaotic to the point and it quickly consumed its supply of medicine. Again, several attempts were needed again. Ridiculous, considering that it is 08/15-opponents.
In addition, the puzzles were ever better, partly they are devoid of any logic. So Alex can not rather open the door to the garden of his house as the water is pumped out the basement. Mind you, it can also engage without concern the situation in the hospital in a hole in the wall - and the risk that he will be an arm's length shorter, if he selfsame not pulling out fast enough.
Other station, the basement of Alex's father: all blades must be deposited in the correct order on the knife board. 3 pieces you have to choose from, commanding first two are also attached. And the third apparently also. However, his place is not as accepting eigetlich provided on the board but on the severed head of a Schisms ...
So what?
No more questions! Yet He who speaks of this logic?

And finally, the game is riddled with bugs in important parts. Ever one of said blade accidentally or removed for fun? I have made since my great logic was not noticed with head og time. The result is that you get the picture from Josh's room miraculously again and all of a sudden "stuck", as if it were a clipping error. Ie you can not move and may make all the garbage again from scratch if you have stored only at the beginning.

Where we are degrees when storing: The storage points are being handed nor just for my taste. After all, the game automatically saves behind many doors or passages between what thus appears that for about 10-15 seconds freezes everything. So if you play do not be surprised and do not press the reset button. This aspect helps tremendously when you're gone again in the fight to the ground. But can leave you can not really sure. Because the prison is eternally long not cached. I am advised by weak health between two Nadler and could repeat the last 15 minutes of play time just.

Other little things that are struck me:

- There are always places where small objects need to be moved, such as books on the shelf or give back the above diameter. Usually these items will flash yellow when you move the mouse over it. Sometimes they do but just do not - and then can be, unfortunately, do not move. Any script error. Remedy creates only then reloading the savegames.
- Make sure that the mouse pointer in the inventory of goods and medicine never leaving the same on a serum, a drink or a kit is because it is used immediately as soon as you press the button Inventory

Very unfortunate. I thought after number 4 was such a disappointment and is incidentally still flopped commercially on all systems, to better of Konami would again prudently. But as I the developer since Part 4 einschätze will provide us with security for 2 or 3 further adaptations in this half-baked form into the house.
