I start with the cover. At first it was rather unimpressive for me, where I held it in my hand, I found the great golden color. Only at some 1/3 of the book I realized who or what is depicted as (important also for the back). I liked that and brought closer to the story. The style is used to, I have especially in the beginning the sides irritated with just a few lines. The sets were initially too easy for a "higher" literary me. By the time I actually found it good because it went well with the story. The characters are described very nicely and lovingly, one can understand their action. I am mainly a scene remained in my memory, where describes how Otto cakes with yeast for the first time. It clearly shows his character and I thought it was great that he still trusts in his old age. Through the existing time jumps the story is interesting, but sometimes confusing. Especially when the sections are short, it is my ever happened that I did not know when the story played. But what has most disturbed me was the end. I can imagine what was going on, but I'm not sure and I do not like. It worked for me was too much with metaphors and thereby obscure what I did enjoy the story unfortunately destroyed.
