Another face of Finkielkraut

An understanding heart (Paperback)

Customer Review

If like me, television interventions Finkielkraut irritate you, then read this book. This is an opportunity to discover that the man is not limited to the reactionary destroyer of pedagogism, lawyer for Israel and the enemy of modern society. From reading Camus's first man to that of the Joke Kundera through Dostoevsky, Alain Finkielkraut takes us into the world of the novel in a masterful style. I think the highlight of this book is also its weak point: seeking systematically to demonstrate how these novels can help us understand our present world, sometimes going Finkielkraut his obsessions, so some shortcuts might annoy the reader. But I would say that the novel excipient used to the thought of Finkielkraut, particularly concerning the critique of racism or pedagogism. Nothing reactionary in this book, only the love of the French language and literature. To read!
