Kate's not working for the Order anymore 'after she had to decide between saving the Pack or staying at the Order's in Magic Bleeds' and gone indie. She's got no customers, her best friend's AWOL and Kate, now being the pack's alpha female has to consider this state before opening her big mouth, while silently wondering When Hugh'll tell Roland about her existence and When They'll attack.
The action begins about When Andrea returns - Kate's finally got a case (Rene from the Red Guards is asking for help!), Vamps run loose, wards are erased (as if They never, ever had been there in the first place), a uber-dangerous device might kill loots of people and along the way Kate has a history and a private life did do not want to be second-best in this story.

Often I asked myself why Kate did not call her fathers behavior into question. As a reader you are more distant When it comes to fact and that's why you probably see the things clearer than she does. Anyways, I really felt sorry for her and was like, 'Oh, you! You betrayed me, you shithead! ' Because:
What father'd want his daughter to become a psychopath? (As stated in the books he wanted Earlier ago to become a second Erra.)
In A Way You Could argue That he wanted her to survive, but as far as I know, parent's want Their children to be alive and being a killing machine without a conscience, does not really fall into the definition of 'alive' or 'human Being 'as machines are nothing with a life anyway.
The romance, oh the romance. You know, four book has been awesome and I do not think book five has been as good, but it comes very close to Magic Bleeds. Kate has to face her insecurities and overcome her paranoia, after facing how much other people betrayed her, it's hard. But Their relationship is tender, sometimes hot .. it's just .. AWR! I want to reread the book, again. And again.
I'd missed him so much, it almost hurt. It started the moment I left the Keep and nagged at me all day. Every day I had to fight with myself to keep from making up bullshit reasons to call the Keep so I could hear his voice. My only saving grace which did Curran what not handling this whole mating thing any better. Yesterday he'd called me at the office Claiming That he Could not find his socks. We talked for two hours.
Sexual Content: A letter-sex scene.
Supportive / Secondary characters. I do not want to start with Julie, but she's really important in this book, so being Kates motivation When it came to Certain decisions, there's a new shapeshifter Whom we're Introduced to (and who'll hopefully become a constant supportive character in the books to come). I missed Raphael, but I'm glad Andrews did not put him in, too, Because then we'd have the kiss-of-Snow-effect. Too much in too little pages. The Way It Is is near perfect.
Depth. I loved this. Often I complain about how other books lack the 'I-can-relate-to-that-shit' feeling. But in this book .. Three Quotes. I spoiler tag them so They Do not take away too much place, but They Do not Actually giveaway much at all.

A wonderful new Kate Daniels Novel. I was so glad to see thatthere was a new novel, Hexed, and instantly bought it. (For Those of you who want to know: It's about Dali and Jim!)
