If this novel could never have an end it would have been the pinnacle. It is a magnificent novel, taking living, it is not bored one minute. The two heroes are wonderful and so true. Reggie is a man full of kindness, compassion for others. It increases their happiness before his. It is charitable and touching. He tries to get out of the clutches of the terrible scourge of alcoholism and his fight to get there is poignant, hard, but for the sake of Alys he will. He is overwhelmed by his housekeeper. She is strong and fragile at once and manages a master hand the field he inherited after being rejected. Alys will support during the difficult stages of weaning. She loves him and will do anything for him. Unfortunately, Reggie will understand that from birth he can not love Alys which is of high lineage. It goes up to sacrifice his love for her, for her to find her place in the stilted society of that time that the young woman does not like. It is a touching story, I repeat, captivating share his heroes out of the ordinary and the feelings that evolve them in the pages .... I honestly recommend it a thousand times ... and I going on my side, read it very soon. Again thank you for this WONDERFUL Mrs. Putney novel.
