Personally, I find Windows XP much better than Windows Vista. While it is not as stable as it was Windows 98 times, but it can be good / easy affairs.

For all those who are trying to decide between Windows XP Home and Professional: for the average consumer, the Home Edition will do just fine; Professinal Edition has a few extras for Fortgescshrittene users who are dealing with networks and so on. The Euros more therefore not worthwhile for most Provatbenutzer, otherwise both versions offer the same thing.
I can only recommend!
