Repairing the Living (Paperback)

Customer Review

Three buddies, surfing enthusiasts, meet one morning to hit the waves. It is 5:00 am and they decide to hit the road, half awake and refrigerated. This is accident.L'un of them is declared brain dead. The announce to parents and at the same time ask them if they would accept that the organs of their son are taken to save the life of another person ... An unbearable ordeal for families. This sensation after advertisment is no longer in the world of the living but in an area where no one can relieve you, you understand.
Despite the seriousness of the subject, one can not enter the novel. One feels a lack of air sensation, largely due to the profusion of mostly medical information and employment comparisons in each page.
However, the description of the hospital world is very well done and the urgency with which this medium is facing what causes it to be as brief as possible in trade to be as effective as possible but at the same time gives the body medical side if this dehumanized and that scares us so much when we ourselves hospitalized.
Maylis Kerangal is a writer, with his style, his sense of narrative but perhaps is it this particular book or author's style, can not wait to get to the end. Loving a writing style is a purely subjective matter, I advise you still read it.
