Back to the authenticity.

I found this book by chance last weekend, on the counter of a small bookstore, when I was at checkout. I took it immediately without asking any question.
For me it is also a journey into the past. Indeed, reading the novels of Stefan Zweig was for me one of the great events of my life readings (if we can image well). It was there are now fifteen years. And I thought these readings were no longer to my taste.

So I started playing without passion. But surprise: everything returned.
Still the largest Stefan Zweig, the master of psychology and sublime description of the feelings of the characters, which manages to feel perfectly.
A dive in the atmosphere of another era than today with its information technologies. A return to authenticity, simplicity, in a world that will soon become, however and unfortunately disturbing, with the arrival of two major wars (the tragic end has chosen to know the great author is known).

The powerful story of a love repressed and frustrated, the couple barely formed after living two years close to one another without daring to confess their love, being separated by circumstances, who will s' continuing the job with the war, since ocean will separate them, so that they will see more for nine long years, instead of the two initially planned already interminable two years that will lock the main character in a work hard intended to occupy her thoughts to better endure the painful separation.
Nine years that will change everything. Because feelings can they remain intact during all this time? That's the question at the center of this novel, treated with all the subtlety and authenticity (I repeat) that characterizes the author.

A real return to the past, which made me want to go back to the readings that have rocked my 1990s book reads intensely and in one go. Unable to detach; it is like away.
(Note that the novel is very short, since it is actually less than 100 pages, the second part of the volume is, to my surprise, the original German. Any takers or students in German).
