Thematically we find in Pain & Gain only one real motive: I'm Big. This theme is repeated once or twice, especially in I Believe In Fitness. Otherwise Jablonsky remains rather on the atmospheric track, he's focused more on producing the right mood. He recreates the typical Media Ventures sound, great beats and superficially it comes to either very cool or rapidly. For this often is an electric guitar used, fits very well to the mood and the story. I also like that Jablonsky aware many electronic sounds used are reminiscent of earlier Hans Zimmer scores.
Although you should hear the piece Pain & Gain more, so you can make up some highlights clear about the rousing Run Him Over, Supermen or the final title, Doyle as an emotional conclusion.
In the film, the music will work well with security and accompany the individual scenes unanimously, on CD, however, is missing from the score the necessary spice. Sometimes the music is me then too monotonous and yet sounds too much like soundtracks that you've heard a hundred times.
Conclusion: Pain & Gain is one of the weaker Jablonsky scores, if not its weakest until now. Good music is still, fans of the movie and of Jablonsky itself will certainly have their favor, to hear the way the score is useful in any case and convinces with a good atmosphere.
