I have lots of love for this book, but unfortunately almost as much beef with it. The plot Seemed like one able to satisfy my cravings. Almost too good to be true. I adore bad boy heroes with a heart. Especially When some flashbacks sweeten the pot. Oh my, I saw him walking down the school's hallway. A little swagger and the promise of a big attitude in his look. Squeeee! Did That even louder When I found out why he Decided to Grace Bell Ford with his presence. I had a schoolgirl crush by the time I was finished with the first three chapters.
I must praise the author's writing skills. She mastered first person narrative, Which is something not many writers are capable of. Her style is very unique. I do not think I've ever read something similar (Contemporary Romance). It's the flow That drew me in. It felt like it comes naturally to Higgins. I'm a fan of drama. Hit me with over the top scenarios and as long as there's a happy ending I'm in.
Posey Looked at herself and her surroundings with a healthy dose of sarcasm. She's funny and witty and has a big, big heart. What's not to love ?! A successful business owner who's willing to give back. She helped people, even thosethat did not deserve it. Do not make the mistake of thinking the story is all about her and Liam, though. It's a package deal! I loved Posey's parents dearly. Such a sweet couple; Their German restaurant 'Good day' was the setting of several groundbreaking scenes.
On to the bad boy hero: The blurb stayed very vague, so I'm sticking to facts and will not give much away. Liam Murphy what the epitome of every girl's wildest fantasies. Bad boy to the bone until a woman managed to capture his heart. Sigh. One more. Siiiiigh. The circumstances of his return were not the easiest ones. He Was Not The Same carefree boy anymore Posey admired during Their teenage years. Still, the feelings she had for him came back with a vengeance. A connection (even if one sided for the most part) had been FORMED. It did not make it hard for me to believe They had a shot at a future together. I would have hated a bad case of instant love.
Just like the last book I read Higgins, hero and heroine did not jump Their bones and rushed into a relationship right away. I Took a few embarrassing moments, confusion and even anger for them to give in to Their attraction. Various other plot lines (I would not call them subplots) made the slow pace possible. Slow Pace 'That does not sound good, but I Promise You That It what. Liam what not ready to rush things and needed to work through his issues. In the Meantime I was thoroughly entertained by whatever mayhem what going on. Are you an animal lover? I do not have a pet, HOWEVER, I'm a dog person. Posey's Great Dane'roflmao. No words. Take a look at that cover!
Now, what did not I like about this hilarious engaging, and most of all romantic read? Remember the plot lines I Mentioned? Either There was not a conclusion or a rather disappointing one. I'm going to list them for you:
- The issue about Posey's background felt cut off instead of resolved.
- No one in Germany would name Their child Gretchen, Wilhelmina or gasoline anymore. Was it supposed to be a joke? If so I take the Following rant back. WOW, do some research people! Yes, thesis names might havebeen cool 5000 years ago, but not today. It is a contemporary read, right?
- Posey's cousin had big problems thatwere emphasized then all of a sudden none existent anymore. Huh?
- I know not many German readers will read the English book, but that's no reason to get sloppy with the German translation. Whoever helped Should brush up on his German skills ASAP.

- One of her friends was a mother who had a downright unhealthy relationship with her son. Was it supposed to be funny? Alarm bells went off in my head and I was itching to call Social Services.
Again, I love over the top drama, but Higgins Took It One Step Too Far 'breaching the line between funny and creepy laugh out loud. Liam's overly protective nature made me like him less. The author's intention probably what the complete opposite. I had to laugh, I give her that, but It was more out of horror than anything else.
- Liam, too, had to deal with personal issues did did not get resolved. AT ALL.
I enjoyed the read. I'm sure you will, too. HOWEVER, I did not love it, what not wowed by it, and therefore did not warm up to the present time Liam Murphy. I recommend it as a beach read'or maybe for a long flight. Awesome one-liners! 3 stars to Until There Was You by Kristan Higgins!
