Lily white girl lives with her abusive father in the 60s in the United States; she would accidentally killed his mother while she was still small, and it is a black nanny who the student. One day she runs away with it, one trying to find the roots of his mother, the other to escape the police, after race riots. They are found in three black sisters beekeepers who host them, and eventually they admit the true story of Lily. A beautiful story of filial love, but also denounces domestic violence, racism .... This novel reads well and is really attached to these three sisters.
