A fire pit was needed ... So, at first from the nearby hardware stores. There were a lot of dishes and were also pricewise partially under this. But I wanted a bowl not as sharp-edged border on top. This I liked here just from the design - 3-legged, therefore no wobbling possible necessarily a hole at the bottom of the dish, so that the rainwater can flow - and from the optic.
The first delivery was fast and ... "shipwrecked": The rough handling during transport had the cast iron shell not survived salvation ... but the claim went smoothly and quickly came to a spare part in our salvation.
The first test run was good and briefly ... then moved to a storm and it was raining one week with rain. The Cup stand outside all the time. When everything was over, I looked after the cup: The rain had cleared the remaining embers and then those bodies of water came down that individual lumps of coal were from before the drain hole ... so I emptied my new "Aquarium". It looked good. Used and good, the grating lying down and the ground had set a little rust but that's a outdoor firepit and not my kitchen stove. That must be so!
On Easter weekend then came the real test. Well, because pictures say a thousand words, I set times what a ... also one of today as it looks currently, after a few fire baptisms and a few downpours. Uncleaned, as they will stand outside, in every season, I remove because only occasionally the ash when needed.
I like the bowl, my children anyway and I recommend happy to purchase. Soon see the collective "sausage-on-Spiess-test" on followed by the "marshmallow on skewer test" ... I think we will have many years of beautiful "bonfire".
