The BDP-450 comes with a rugged metal housing and a brushed aluminum front panel and is visually and technically processing a rare highlight!
For this processing one would require a great deal more than 500 years ago, but also PIONEER gets the price pressure from competitors to feel, so it seems absolutely fair, what the manufacturer can offer at this price.
The front and the display earn another praise. Excellent readability, keys are guided precisely and it's probably one of the last devices on the market, which still has really sturdy feet, as it used to be common.
The remote control can be used in the classification, although points, but there the developers to well-intentioned, because the small keys tide makes the whole not exactly clear. The arrangement of the functions, however, is in order, and processing. Fewer buttons would have been more here.
The connections to Pioneer based on purely digital level. A coaxial digital output, a USB port on the front / rear and Ethernet port for BD Live plus 2 HDMI outputs! Analog outputs needs nowadays anyway no more, so you have this same left out entirely.
The drawer opens pleasantly quiet. The speed of the drive is achieved that the speed is ramped up briefly when reading. When playing the main movie but is then immediately rest. In the video you can hear the original Review drive noise.
(See text below)
With 8 seconds, the Pioneer boots refreshingly quick.
A Bluray with JAVA content such as Pirates of the Caribbean or Terminator 2 is with
an average of 19 seconds ON read to the main menu! Thus, the drive is one of the fastest and most reliable drives on the market and that's saying something!
Incidentally, the layer break for DVD is mastered absolutely perfect.
Now the menu layout and because you realize after the initial power immediately that
PIONEER is not therefore overflowed Bluray player, but shows professional ambitions,
what you realize to the settings already.
There are 2 HDMI outputs, but it can only be saved VideoPreset.
Since the manufacturer has not logically thought through and this is unfortunately a small but verschmerzlicher disadvantage.
In all modesty, the format diversity of the equipment should be noted. Apart from CD / DVD and Bluray plays the instrument namely from also SACDs and DVD Audio. Basically, a device that is playing all that is around. That this also applies for fired formats, belongs to the almost self-evident.
The Pirates of the Caribbean Bluray still among the best, bildgewaltigsten productions and is also perfect to test the visual characteristics of the player.
There are things visible, which could previously only imagine. Whether it is the wear on the sails or the structures in the planks of the pirate ship. The picture stands as firmly chiseled, perfectly clean, smooth - in a word: The Marvell Qdeo video chip gets everything out,
What's rauszuholen. Perfect!
The PIONEER remains amazingly safely on track. Dropouts I had during the entire test period not a single. The sound was at a similar level. Soundtracks are rendered dynamically and with full passion. The device transmits a nuance diversity that is unparalleled in this price range and is likely to be virtually unrivaled.
Since I am in possession of some DVD-Audio and SACDs too, I can bestäigen that these are play wonderful music.
Also for the PIONEER Multimedia has something left, though in limited form. There are only 2 platforms. YouTube and Picasa, but this device is also no multimedia streaming machine, but an above average Bluray Player.
Nevertheless, despite the network player surprised with its stable streaming performance! Formats such as DivX AVI, AVCHD, MP4, QuickTime, MKV and my Dreambox TS Files (1080i) were no problem! I've watched a whole movie (90 minutes!) Through Netwerk and neither had nor stuttering dropouts! The unit can handle even exotic audio codecs such as FLAC,
only with WMV (Microsoft) the instrument could start nix.
Only with 720p material, the device has Skalierprobleme. 720p Blurays there is not, so this is in practice actually not before, unless you'd 720p burning Satstreams, but this no longer corresponds to the Bluray specification. However, there are devices that play this 720p format without problems,
Therefore, this flaw has to be mentioned.
Conclusion: Who does not want to get yourself a PS3 or PS4 and prefer to have a demanding Bluray player in the house, which is processed with value and is due to its function over several years, is here at the PIONEER BDP-450 exactly right. Furthermore, the buyer has a device that plays in a different league for a different target group, namely people who claim not to be satisfied with the mainstream of the PS3 / PS4 people here. PIONEER is managed with the BDP-450 is a device that can inspire all around and worth every penny! Strong buy recommendation and congratulations to PIONEER!
