These pins are a more rewarding to buy, even if they are significantly more expensive than other pins. The difference you notice when sharpening as they do not break it and can therefore be used longer, unless they are lost :-)
Our son likes to paint with it because they are good in the hand and the mine is shatterproof. For sharpening you do not need special sharpener.
Just buy it for crayons, which are not cheap, but worth every penny.
