Some years ago I was the Cougar owner from the same manufacturer. By I'm not very good coped since my release forces from the central position of the sticks were too high. For DCS Black Shark of Thrustmaster Cougar was therefore useless for me because the simulation requires constant small corrections to the stick. Even for tricky Dogfights in IL2-1946 the Cougar was too cumbersome.
My wrong path then led me through the X52 (to lug suspension, despite the second spring, also strange grip shape) to the G940. With the latter, I was not happy, because I could not cope with the force feedback and joystick was not accurate enough for my taste.
Finally, the day of enlightenment came in a computer store, where I got by chance the Warthog in the fingers.
The precision of the stick could be alone when moving the sticks, without the latter was connected guess. The release force is slightly less than the Cougar and thus fine control possible corrections to the center position. The Throttle unit also has impressed me with the same high-quality switches and the massive appearance.
The part is not gone out of my mind, and shortly afterwards I have to think about something (the price is just already fairly hefty) eventually ordered the Warthog.
I was not disappointed!
The stick is all hitherto seen before in terms of precision and realism in Simulator Flying in the shade!
Since the appearance I'm a big fan of Il2 Cliffs of Dover. At first I thought that the Hotas would "modern" for this WW2 sim to. The feeling is indescribable but so realistic. Alone the many switches at the base of the throttles can be nicely used for functions such as fuel pump, select the engines and weapons arming. A rotary knob on the base serves perfectly to the elevator trim. May disturb you not only that the label of the switch is designed to A10C.
In terms of accuracy enormously increases the stick unimagined possibilities. Never before I found it so easy to attack ground targets with the MG and take. And that the handle is made of metal will do the rest to feel authenticity.
The software for programming the joystick, I did not yet have to apply, as an assignment of the keys work without any problems in the control menu of the simulators. For the DCS A10C from the Hotas is anyway fully recognized and automatically assigned to the respective functions.
If you do not so bothered by the specified label of the switch and to the high price of the system, so the TM Hotas Warthog Flight Stick is the ideal for all kinds of simulators, and recommended by me without restrictions !!!
