I have already tried different Locksysteme but among other things, of Warwick, has convinced me that only Schaller system. The reasons I would like to explain here:
1. Processing:
I can not fault the processing, everything is processed Perfect fit and high quality, the locking mechanism works even after many years of intensive use nor properly!
2. Mounting:
The attachment is on the guitar relatively simple, here only the strap button must be replaced. Note, however, that in many guitars (especially Gibson) the screws are too thin and do not engage properly. Here a toothpick creates but the remedy is simply inserted into the hole. Keeps me also for years on various guitars.
Belt side the counterpart using the hex nut has to be fixed. There are voices who claim the whole dissolves over time and was not sure it can not confirm and I use the system for a long time really intense!
Therefore, I contend that the release is due to mounting errors!
Here are some tips for a safe installation:
- It is important to use in any case ended wrench and on both sides! Ie both for the mother and for the other side, also as you can with a wrench to the "U" grab and so counter the mother! This ensures a stable attachment.
Watching you have something, so you do not damage the "U" in the then hacks the strap button. So do not use too much force.
- The two "hooks" on the belt attachment must be clean grip in the belt, it must be ensured in any case! I also recommend girths made of leather, there, the system can best fix.
A small point of criticism is the short thread, so that when thicknesses leather straps partially attaching the mother is somewhat tricky, is then tightened once makes but nothing more, since that leather case is well compressed and ensures a secure grip!
3. Longevity:
I've been using the system since now almost 10 years actively involved in several guitars and straps, no problems so far!
4. Costs:
Also from the cost, the system is very attractive in principle extends a belt, then you can buy for all instruments specially the very reasonable strap buttons and has therefore equipped all the instruments with a secure attachment.
Who has many instrument changes on stage buys a second system.
All in all I can the system know about each, whether amateur or professional guitarist!
