Best Zelda of all time ???

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Video Game)

Customer Review

First I have to say that I played a lot of Zelda games, starting with "A Link to the Past" further titles like "Links Awakening", "Oracle of Seasons", "Minish Cap", "Ocarina of Time", " Majora's Mask "," Wind Waker "and now

in ca.36 hours (the time is displayed in the menu) and Twilight Princess. I must say in advance that it has acted as the GameCube version, so I'm going to tell anything about the new Wii controls, but about the game itself (which to a mirrored world is identical to the Wii version).

Remember that this recession is so written in the eyes of Zelda fans. I will at the end be two reviews, one for those of you from those Twilight Princess the first Zelda game ever and one for people like me who are practically grew up with Zelda.

Twilight Princess is reminiscent in many ways of Ocarina of Time, the first 3D Zelda ever. It begins in a small village, where you will (already here with riding on a small cattle farm) with the controls. After some time, you get access to the Hyrule-steppe, which is as it were the hub of the game - from here you will arrive in most areas of the game, provided you have met the conditions that allow a the next round.

So Zelda is constructed in every detail you need to find objects to open up more routes. That is the strength of Zelda to other action-adventure games. One needs to reach safety catch to higher ground, bombs to blow up a fragile wall etc.

In this vast world there are 9 dungeons (much like in Ocarina of Time) that need to be found and mastered. Dungeons, for which it does not know temples are inhabited by nasty bosses and are filled with traps and puzzles.

... I think most of you already know, if you test from games magazines like 4players.de, N-Zone, Mag64.de, Gamezone.de, etc. have read. I would like to deal with the stuff that gets you maybe give in rather less magazines (which I was also very annoyed).

first for people who are new to the Zelda kingdom:

-) The game is huge, but you will never feel bored, because you will constantly made familiar with new gameplay. The world is designet varied and offers plenty for the eye (yes, even on the Wii is nice graphics possible - though not HD, but artistically valuable and lovingly decorated).

-) Multiple minigames are included: flight passages to fishing in an idyllic pond with Cherry flavor, from snowboarding to whitewater kayaking, collecting wooden ball tracks to insects ... is much to experience.

My conclusion for you: 14/15 points (equivalent to a 1 in the staff) ... on any other console so you will have an adventure. The competition tries Although often in it, but except for Okami (PS2) none achieved the genius of a Zelda ...

now, so you know what is for fans of Zelda series different compared to its predecessors.

-) I start at perhaps the most important: the story. You might remember even back to Ocarina of Time: Did you also goosebumps when Ganondorf rode with the young from the Zelda Hyrule Castle ..., as was gradually revealed to the identities of the ways ... as the identity was known by Sheikh etc. etc. ?? Just such moments I have sorely missed in TP. It looks as though Aonuma (developer) tried, but then changed her mind yet. The dramatic twists in the game are very predictable and inconsistencies (who was that ??) be resolved very unsatisfactory. TP Wherever Ocarina shone, as it lacks.

-) A lot of you probably did not like Majora's Mask. May it at the playmaking lie that will always and repeatedly played against time ... but one was represented outstanding in this game: the sidequests. What do you do when you just do not want to follow times the main storyline? Man helping NPCs (villagers, etc.) to carry out certain tasks. Be it to be included in the club of the bombers or to find Kafei mask. Be there to find the fiancé of a hostess or escort the milk transport in the city.

... In TP lacks these side quests. Even so much that you look manchesmal asks: "I've overlooked something?". The optionlen Quests can be counted on one hand and by some mini-games (which are as I said very well done) supplemented. Above all, may be that hardly any NPCs are addressing. In the capital, is just one (!) Only Goron who needs help (and the corresponding SQ consists of "bringing the subject A to point B".)

-) The combat system is simple very great success. In any other Zelda game you will learn so many fighting techniques that are still to be as simple and manually run. In Wind Waker I liked the "automatic roll" in the enemy's rear is not particularly, because you just press it at the right time A had to hard to injure the opponent. This role is back again, but clearly manually execute what has personally just gives me more pleasure ....

-) .... But this leads ingenious combat system means that the opponents pose almost no longer a challenge. Except for an optional dungeon (where you have to pass through 50 rooms in succession, with an increasing number of opponents), which was very demanding, I had hardly ever used a fairy or a healing potion. The bosses are the crowning, but indeed awesome thought simply too harmless.

-) The objects / items: there are a few new ones (which are also great) but basically the items are in hardly a Zelda game has been so little used as in TP. The best example is the spin that you hardly benötig because it soon after getting the bow. Even more terrifying, but I find that there are so few objects easy, although new have been added, many simply dropped from the old .... No force gloves, No fire / ice / light arrows Ocarina No, No Magic, ... ,

... Probably I already told too much, that's why I stop now. My conclusion for you Zelda fans: all 12/15 points (ie a 2+). The game could have been so much more if it had not so far from its predecessors. It is a nice homage to Ocarina of Time, but is in my opinion not Waker to the N64 and parts of wind ran. For me, it just seems unfinished. Very unfortunate.

I hope you could give a little insight. Mfg Marc Aurel
