Better is the Good (XP) enemy ... or: The best Windows ever!

I have a long history of Windows behind me. It all started with Windows 3.11 as 'attachment' for DOS. This was followed by Windows 95, which represented a quantum leap over Windows 98 and 2000 to Windows XP, which I very much appreciated and white. Windows Vista I have left for good reasons. A few weeks ago I went 32 bit 7 Professional 64 bit changed from XP Professional to Windows, because due to a Hardware Upgrades incl. New hard drive anyway decency to reinstall your operating system. I was with XP Professional not dissatisfied and had accordingly - true to the motto "Never change a running system" - a slightly queasy feeling.

The installation went smoothly, without raising questions. The visual impression is refreshing, organizing Taskbar and Start Menu I feel as successful - in the simplest way can be added or removed as there program buttons here. The Preview window from the taskbar is comfortable and useful.

Most USB peripheral devices are detected automatically and installs the appropriate drivers. The system Intel i7 CPU is very stable, and 8 GB of RAM make their contribution to the impression at all times to fill more than power. Another note for those who - like me - have long to write repeatedly texts: The somewhat hidden speech recognition does an excellent service!

(To be installed later) The XP compatibility mode does the job very well, so that some programs (including Photoshop Elements 7) that are not expressly Windows 7-ready work without any problems. In the Home Premium version of this feature is missing by the way, if only for this reason, I would advise the Professional or even Ultimate version.

Conclusion: I have to change so far not regretted second and can only recommend the operating system, just as a 64-bit version, which is expected to be a powerful platform for your application, in most cases for several years.
