Sky I was skeptical after I had chased Lost in Space 1 & 2 by my pit. Somehow there not really the Avanatsia Feeling over and my anticipation for The Scarecrow was marred considerably. But ultimately was actually out of the question, the thing also to buy and I must say: Good that I bought it. The third Avantasia album is different from the Metal Opera and takes a little longer to really can sustainably inspire, but it has a first packed, remains a sovereign to exceptional album that should be in every record collection and the only reason why four star gets, as some small dropouts are present. But first things first: The Scarecrow has first of all a very gereifteres songwriting, hard to put into words, but Avantasia sound really adult and somehow more mature. About three songs are most likely in the old direction. As would Shelter from the Rain, Another Angel Down and Devil in the Belfry. Do you really not much to say. Then there are some midtempo Stampfer as the opener Twisted Mind and The Toy Master, the usual ballads (What Kind of Love and Cry Just A Little) and the absolute About song and title track The Scarecrow, which is also the longest track with eleven minutes. And they may become too protracted: All these songs are really good and recommended and any gripe would be nitpicking.
The muskalische package is clouded, their Poplastigkeit I did not like just from those already published songs Lost in Space and Carry Me Over still and significantly detract from the overall impression. In addition, and so would we have all the songs, I can start with whatever I Dont belive in your love rather less. A song of me just will not ignite.
Absolutely positively stand out the vocal performances of Tobi Sammet and his guest singers, led by the genius of Jorn Lande anyway is beyond doubt for me. Playtime Music CD: about 65 min.
On the bonus DVD there is a song by song interview in which Tobi briefly responds to every song and is wrapping it in the story concept the best. And then the two videos for Lost in Space and Carry Me Over (is just sad that the two weakest songs videos were filmed) but heck, and superfluous Making Ofs to the vids. Then still there as an audio track on the DVD two alternative versions of the Toy Master and i dont believe in your love. Also runs on: nice, but no one really needs again. Total Time DVD: just under 35 minutes.
Overall, The Scarecrow not quite the outstanding masterpiece, but in general, despite minor flaws in must-have for every Edguy / Avantasia fan or for any Melodic Metal fan. From me a strong buy recommendation.
