Shortly after the release was "Illud divinum insanus" discussed quite hot. Because the album has little in common musically with the band that let go a blatant Metal Massacre called "Altars of Madness" in the world in 1989.
No, "Illud divinum insanus" waits with Industrial elements that do not fit so as to once rude, boorish Morbid Angel sound. I would not be surprised if most of the audience would have shut down after the second "song" of the album. Granted, much of it at first really not easy to keep me completely.
The album starts with a streaky Intro acting schonmal somehow out of place and sounds to me more like the introduction of a Gravedigger CD. What the band has, however, rode in the actual opening track "Too Extreme", is absolutely foreign to me! This is simply a song that the world does not need. Terrible beats and a virtually constant melody that was stretched to more than six minutes. I was really shocked! Fortunately, the next seven titles more than just bearable. With "Existo Vulgoré" and "Blades for Baal" the band returns to long-known and altgeliebter brutality. Puuuuh, at this point I was relieved genuine. Now we come to almost known number of the album "I am Morbid". Although the song is also criticized versatile, so I like him quite well. It is very intuitive and has a powerful chorus. After clichés you do not have to look far though! "10 more dead" has once again become a classical composition. Suitable splendidly for a spontaneous headbanging session, but does not stick in the ear really. With "Destructos Vs. The Earth / Attack" I then turn my problems. The band shows very keen to experiment, but the title seems again stretched, making it ultimately just boring. For now follow with "Nevermore" and "Beauty meets Beast" two absolute About songs! That's Morbid Angel, how she likes. Aggressive and abnormal fast! Well, the last release trails Album "Radikult" and "Profundis Mea Culpa" call back a lot of patience. Both songs have their moments, all in one package can not convince unfortunately. Too Bad.
I really want to make it clear that I am not an enemy of metal music that intersects with electronics, industrial or other similar styles. So I hear next to bands like Venom, Slayer, Morbid Angel, Annihilator (etc.) also like Marilyn Manson, Samael or grain. I just think that this style of Morbid Angel sound does not fit. Nevertheless, the new album is not a total failure. It shines with the time and delight despite some wrong overflowed experiments. Perhaps this is not true in any supporter to me already.
Songs like "Existo Vulgoré", "Nevermore" and "Beauty meets Beast" is great firecracker that you can not just dismiss that. The recordings, the early works of the band never in the shadows, but he is a strong buy recommendation for fans with a wide tolerance.
