It comes with a pen as incisive amusing Miss Ahern literally engulf us in his story right from the first chapters. Parachuted in the heart of Dublin, we will follow and live the adventures of Christine Rose and will be more than close to the latter through a narration in the first person revealing his thoughts, aspirations and vulnerabilities. All the more wacky adventures as each other with particularity context and subject are not supposed to pay it, however, the author succeed brilliantly in fusing these two atmospheres of fine and subtle way. This young heroine will share his troubles always so full of biting and self-mockery in a situation completely beyond him, how to save a suicidal in just 12 days? Christine will be followed with interest and delight which will demonstrate ingenuity to give flavor to life the young man. Processes often eccentric but always filled with good intentions. In parallel we will discover that it will also be hard to manage between the bitterness of her ex-husband interposed by friends and families, also more qu'humiliants passages for her but absolutely hilarious for us readers, I have more once laughed imagining it in this or that situation, moments that are sure to amuse the so taciturn Adam.
Let us now one of the successes of this novel, its main characters.
From the beginning I have taken a liking to the young and altruistic Christine Rose. This heroine has from the beginning of the novel, lived a drama that marked and traumatized for life where his reaction by having Adam overview about to jump from the bridge Ha'Penny. Being now in charge of against her will depressed young, Christine will show much courage as to help to accept this life reject all his might. It's a seemingly safe heroin from her that we portray Cecelia Ahern gold mask will fall quickly through this narration in the first person, Christine will prove the opposite of what it wants to send a young woman frail n 'Having no confidence in it. A life unpleasant it and which it has so far found solutions through books on personal development. His meeting with Adam show him on certain points she shares the same problems as him. Such a touching heroine qu'attachante with whom I smiled, giggled and laughed at the same pace as the latter, without relying on the moving passages about having been restored with great credibility and delicacy by Cecelia Ahern.
Let's talk about the young man in distress, Adam. We meet for the first time Adam Basil on loan bridge jumping as Christine catches up altogether. This young man will make us go through all the stages of depression with great accuracy. Man full of humor and teasing in the past, Adam let these personality traits reappear in contact Christine. Alternating between bitterness, rage and disillusionment, this charmer will recover fully to his savior and hang her as a lifeline despite his unorthodox methods to cheer him up. We will work quickly to Adam turns smiling, Septic, ironic and sarcastic the same way as the latter making each new adventure between Christine and Adam simply exciting and which will want from them especially unpredictable. A personality that will reveal many more complex facets that presaged the beginning of the story. A man certainly fragile but in contact Christine will prove just as it protective, tender and caring. I really loved this monitor duo love "impossible" in light of the request of Adam as to help him regain control of his life. A relationship very clear start, which will become the days a little more ambiguous, the tension between them will continue to grow despite the desire of the latter as to help regain Maria without falling in love with him. Whether in hilarious passages where Christine awkwardness moves us as much as it makes us smile, to describe so poignant moments with a real echo in us. A couple with my left mind full of memorable moments at the end of reading.
Where the author was also a faultless was in developing the characters revolving around Adam and Christine, either totally wacky family Christine recalling the typical English humor and absurdity flirting between schoolboy, his ex -mari, his secretary, customer, friend and cantankerous family of Adam and his ex girlfriend Maria. Tasty and moving passages which I unfortunately can not list all of the light of all the multitude which gratifies us with delight the author.
A story that particularly affected me and which despite its dramatic backdrop paradoxically proved extremely warm. A breath of hope and ode to life providing us with all his good humor with enthusiasm, sincerity and passion. This was my very first novel of Cecelia Ahern and certainly not the last given all the talent it has demonstrated with such a subject.
