Chronicle of the Killer King - First Day, Volume 1: The wind's name (Paperback)

Customer Review

I am 28 and have never really been attracted to reading. I actually started it a year ago.
Since I entered this world, it is difficult for me to get out, and that's good.
During this year, I read various books (A small thirty books as The Spook, The Chronicles of Ancient Darkness, Another World, etc ...) of different size (from 100 to 1000 pages) but still in fantasy, magic, science fiction.
In other-words, if I read it is to discover a new world created by the author ... I want to escape into a fantasy just waiting to work.

If I write this, it's not to tell my life. It is to highlight that the book is accessible to the greatest number. The size should not be a hindrance. No need to be a great long-time reader to love this work.

This book is to date the most beautiful and most pleasant I have had the pleasure of reading.

The author takes us into his universe in which we find, among other, a new currency, a new calendar, a magic view that too few lately ...
At no time did the author explains the operation of all these new things, such as money, yet when the book closes, we know that with iron under 2 can eat a Kebab, with 5 or 6 talent money can buy a PlayStation ... It naturally integrates and to a point that would allow us to use it in real life.

Generally, when someone says to be the best, shoulders are up, looks up to the sky and sighed, finding it pathetic and distressing because pretentious and starved humility.
However, it happens from time to time that the charism of the author of such remarks is such that one can not but agree and for a simple reason ... This is the truth .
Kvothe, the main character who tells himself his adventure is to them. It does not boast, it notes. He says what he is in all humility. It is not a good musician, it's best that we can hear. The one who can listen without crying, without dreaming, without laughing. It is not a good student, he is the one that any teacher would dream of having, that each student would be. Kvothe can afford this kind of observation ... It is found even modest yet.

This is possible by an innovative writing. A writing that makes you hesitate to read the book after turning page 781 (connected release). A writing that makes you forget the few delays in the story, that keeps you close the book without feeling cut off speech.
A writing class, distinguished, refined, sought, poetic, unpretentious writing ... Bewitching.

Also, I would make a parenthesis to congratulate as well as thank the translator, Ms. Colette Carrière.

I would end (finally) by saying that I look forward to the immeasurable 2nd day ... Other books are all suddenly become less attractive.
