Caveat: I have not seen the movie, and have the assumption this would be helpful for the game.
Without knowledge of film affects the game initially quite furious. By cutscenes shown in the game (some long excerpts of the film) is clear about the action in the second half of the game.
The game would have a lot of potential, eg. As since this time is made entirely of LEGO bricks, so no Lego objects in a "cartoon world" but really everything LEGO. The individual scenes are quite well done and interesting (sea of clouds, deep, ...) Then there are a few fairly funny moments and characters (Batman and Kitty unicorn into a rage), but most of the dialogues and plot is (especially in the first half of the game) pointless, boring and completely irrelevant. Most everything seems much too hectic and confusing and I also wonder constantly, who wrote the screenplay and the story here, if this is to be a story. In terms of the story, this is m. E. definitely the Lego low, probably the game can not help it but because it probably completely based on the film.
In the last third, the game places yet to tidy. It is understandable, witty and the story to make sense. The finale is also very nice.
The following points bother me in the game:
1. top right flashes (!) Always "Press any key" message. The whole game long! Completely superfluous, after 5 minutes I'm with understand that a second player may "press any key" only need to enter the message bothers! If she would not blink at least ...
2. appears on the PS4 before each cutscene the message that the video recording is stopped due to restricted content, after the cutscene again a message that video recording has been reactivated. As the game very often switch between game and cutscenes and forth, the message accordingly often. This is basically a message of PS4, but it is initiated by the game and pulls out of the game a. (The message can be disabled via the "Share" options of the PS4.
3. The music is too loud and sometimes annoying. Shutdown can they, but volume control is only available for the master volume. Even without music the voices compared to the sound effects are still too low. The nowadays regarded as standard Separate volume control for music, sounds and voices is not provided here.
4. The graphics could be a bit better on the PS4, the anti-aliasing can still be desired. But is okay.
5. The story is as I said in the beginning not very good, the staging is m. E. much too hectic and confusing. Come only towards the end of action, staging and story in motion.
6. The pathing within the higher levels is sometimes difficult, sometimes do not know what it is to be done. (Should actually be a game for children). The fighting, however, especially the boss battle to the final, but are not too difficult and the degree of difficulty suitable for children.
All in all for the price too high. Justified were 30, - up to 35, - Euro. So rather wait, is likely to settle in the area.
Glad I did as part of a "buy 3 pay 2" -Vorbestell-range of Amazon for 35, - Euro got.
Overall, I forgive 3 stars, and this only due to the successful final third of the game.
Yet I yearn back to Lego City Undercover, here everything was just right.
