Customer Review

In Year of the album 1976, I made my high school. A friend brought the LP after the summer holidays from England. The Beatles were be final dead, the "Saturday Night Fever" had not yet begun, the hard rock time a la Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin was on decay, Lach numbers like Bay City Rollers or Sweet managed chart success, experimental electronics like Kraftwerk or Tangerine Dream conquered their niche. Musically everything was somehow in transition. Bowie captures this in a magnificent way. This album is like a kaleidoscope of his time. Songs of epic like "Station to Station" represent the still widespread hillside many musicians (eg Yes) to so-called. Concept albums or rhythm song, "TVC 15" takes the emerging disco sound anticipate and "Stay" is with its cutting riffs and the immense Drive a song like "Black Dog" by Led Zeppelin not dissimilar, although it comes much more elegant and tamed. A timeless chart bangers like "Golden Years" is available as well as two quiet songs to take a breath and relax.
I think it is Bowie's best album, because it is very round and balanced. It has inspired me over 25 years ago and still does. Bowie Artist trauma it may be, to have been one step ahead of the beginning of his career his time always. This earned him a reputation as a trend-setter. Later, he has almost always taken -as almost all established musicians-an existing trend - admittedly mostly at a high level. But with "Station to Station", he succeeded in a unique way to capture the moment, what this album singles out from all.
